Dear Family of Donna Bowen,

Remembering Donna on this day as she will never be forgotten.

God bless you.

I remember going for walks in the neighboorhood and visiting with Donna, never too busy to chat and laugh. Seeing her at the Pentagon hard at work and especially at church where she was an example to all others who attended OLHC. You are very missed!

... still remembering Donna and the time she spent volunteering with the kids at Our Lady Help of Christians Church—what a difference she made in the lives of so many!

I worked with Donna and loved her so very much. She and I would talk about everything and anything.  Whenever we were on the phone, we would discuss the current business at hand first. She was always trying to save the government money. She would go over the Verizon invoices closely and contact me with any discrepancy.  After we completed our business, we would talk about our families. We both were strong mothers, and our kids were our priorities. We were both crazy about our husbands, too. She also loved a good joke. She would send me email jokes and poems. My last email from her was on the morning of September 11. She sent me a poem saying that I had just been tagged by an angel. I was on a business trip and did not see it until my return. I knew others also who were victims of that day, but none touch my heart like Donna. You were very special, Donna, and I love and miss you something awful.

*** Seven Years and Still Remembered ***

I, too, work for Verizon, and although I did not work with donna, I am sure our paths crossed at the Chesapeake. Your light still shines through your family, and you will always be remembered by your family at Verizon.

I just want to say that although I never knew Donna, I can tell what a good mom and loving person she was by the memorials on here.

On this anniversary of 9-11, I can't help but remember all the good times and laughs we shared working side by side at the Chesapeake. My heart goes out to your beautiful family.

God bless you, Donna. Seven years have not eased the pain of your loss. You are not forgotten!

Anastasia,

Please know that your mommy is with her heavenly father, and she, too, misses you dearly. Remember that she is with you and will always be there for you. Keep talking to your mommy; she hears and loves you and will always listen to you. Keep your dad company, and let him know how much you appreciate him daily.

With much love and peace,
Michelle :-)

there is a blog memorial for all the people that died on 9/11. I applied and received Donna Bowen's name to do a tribute on my blog. I am very grateful to have her name, but I feel to do her justice I would like to have some information about her from her family, if that would be possible.... Thank you very much.

Donna Bowen was my mommy and I miss her so much! I would do anything to have her back. My daddy is doing a great job raising us but i could really use a mommy. When i look around and see everybody else with a mommy it hurts and when i need her in a situation i just cry! I talk to her every night before I go to bed in my prayers. Love you mommy. <3

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
