To the family of Douglas G. Karpiloff, On this 10 yr. of the World Trade Center 9/11 attack. I wanted to let you know that Douglas G. Karpiloff was one of the finest men ever. In 1997 or 1998 I called him in regards to telling him about a new Bomb Blast Glass protection system that Glasslock had patents on for Retrofitting existing glass systems for buildings to help reduce issues for Bomb Blasts. Douglas whitout even knowing who I was or what I had to offer him. Went to the Extraordiany effort to actully lend his name to help me Contact Applied Reaserch Associates. This was the turning point in our progressing our system through the Government GSA system.
It is with the greatest gratitude possible I want you to know what a unique and wonderful soul he was. I will never forget him ever.
My Eternal Gratitude
REX KUEHNER

I went to high school with Doug. I knew him mostly by sight and what I remember about him was a deep sense of quiet and decency. I have lived in California for many years now, but when I found out that someone I knew and saw every day when I was in high school had died on 9/11 at the World Trade Center: it brought this tragedy home to me in a way nothing else did. I remember Doug Karpiloff, and I wanted to honor his memory and extend my heartfelt sympathy to his friends and family.

Well, I really never got to meet Douglas G. Karpiloff, but I'm pretty sure that Douglas was a really cool person. The reason I know who Douglas is, is because I donated a dollar to him at my school. I know that a dollar ain't much, but I do know that my prayers to him and his family are worth more.

Doug was a mentor and friend. A man whose love of others showed itself every day and one last time on 9-11. He remains an inspiration to me today.
With great respect,
Jeff Beatty

I met Doug at a conference in Honolulu where he was the speaker. The date was 4/2001. He left a lasting impression on me with his knowledge of security and safety. He said that after the 1993 attack, that only an air attack could damage the WTC. If only he knew.

We were next door neighbors of the Karpiloffs,I remember Doug as a young boy...I was devastated to learn of his tragic death. If his parents read this, I want them to know that our prayers are with them

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
