My sympathy for your loss. I lived in the NYC area during the Cuban Missle crisis. When the event was going on our school dismissed classes. The concept was we were a target for incoming from cuba. Many persons left the nyc area. Some in Levitown went to their bomb shelters, the senate, congress, and upper eschelon had the Green Briar Hotel. I was sent home from school, no bomb shelter. Civilian defense consisted of a fallout shelter. Not effective from a nuke. I caught the idea. Send my taxes in, and go home from school. Out of my $14.52 a week pay at 14 taxes were taken out for building shelters for those in authority. If I had made this clear to people what was our defense, no one would have believed it. So at the age of 21, I left the NYC area. I understood. We miss you , but Willie McBride is also missed as the song says, again and again and again and again.
I offer for you the flowers of the forest by Mike Oldfield, from his voyager album. Wish I could paste here but can not.
The song of Willie McBride was considered a peacenik song. Veterans give out poppies as a result of the event of 1916. Where have all the flowers gone, and the flower children as the anti war movement people were called, is all from this concept of the planting of the poppies at Flanders Field. But the song is not a peacenik song but a warning, as it says again and again. I do not send my federal taxes in anymore. They have to prove to me they can supply defense. Else, I withold and provide my own. I am not here to buy those claim to provide defense to me money for hot tubs etc...anymore.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
