Eddie, you will never be forgotten, from R. Dillard. You have a grandson by the name of DeShaun Eddie Dillard, who looks
a lot like you, and he is a very smart baby boy. I told him about his grandfather. I know you are in heaven right now, and you are blessed to be with our heavenly Father. We all miss you.

I knew Eddie from the Tolleston neighborhood in Gary, IN. We grew up together on 19th and Taft. The Dillards lived across the street from us. When my brother David was killed in the Navy in 1967, I remember receiving comfort from Eddie. May Eddie and David enjoy eternity together.

My heart still breaks as I remember on this 8-year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on our great nation.
To our Lord in Heaven above, a few words to send up to my Uncle Eddie.
As a child, Uncle Eddie, you and my Aunt Ruby gave me the first job I ever had. Just 14 years old... you let this skinny, inquisitive kid tag along with you to your 7-Eleven store in Seattle. You worked me hard and kept me from complaining about those awful oh-dark-30 hours! You taught me to take pride in my work and be grateful for each and every opportunity when people believe in you.
That was so long ago-- feels like several lifetimes now. I wish you could see how much that groundwork of ethics and thoughtfulness on the job... has helped me to prosper in my television career.
Often when people get divorced, the families of those ex-spouses lose touch but, you on several occasions kept track of me. Thank you for loving me and showing me ways to be successful in life, both personally and professionally. You are missed.
And, as we near another anniversary of your death, know that you continue to inspire me. Love, Harris Kimberley Faulkner

I worked with Eddie from 1981 to 1985 at Phillip Morris in San Francisco, CA. Each year, on the Anniversary of 9-11, I think of Eddie and the good times we had working together. I remember Eddie bringing his son out from Texas to work with him and the fun we had betting on 49er football games. My thoughts are with you, Eddie.

Eddie was a caring, respectful brother that I am glad to say our lives at Tolleston High touched each others' and determined the roads we would travel in this life until God calls us home. You will never be forgotten. I often remove the 1965 yearbook from it's resting place and wonder where they all went. Perhaps I will see them as I am sure I will see you on the other side in God's Heaven.
Rest In Peace, Brother

I have known Eddie Dillard since I was growing up in Gary, Indiana. I knew his brother, Andy Dillard. The last time I saw Eddie was in Gary, Indiana at our 25th high school reunion. Eddie was a wonderful friend during those early years.
My heart and mind are in blessing for Eddie.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
what kind of person he/she was,
what nice points you remember about him/her,
what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
what you two perhaps did together,
what he/she meant to you,
or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
Thank you for your understanding in these matters.

This web site is affiliated with 24K Gold Music Shows - an oldies music showband performing in Central Florida. The members of the showband feel strongly that there were many heroes manifested during the onslaught of terror associated with 9-11, and present this site as a memorial to those whose lives were lost, and the loved ones they left behind.
24K Gold Music Shows perform primarily 50-60s Oldies, Elvis songs, DooWop, and older country music, as well as patriotic songs. All of the musicians, singers, dancers, and staff of the 24K Gold Music Shows extend their deepest sympathies to every one who lost loved ones on that terrible day.
24K Gold Music Shows performs an original song called "The Day America Cried", which is a 9-11 tribute song. In the live shows, they honor with the song not only the heroes of 9-11 but also those who are still alive: the police personnel, firefighters, emergency personnel, soldiers, and others who have served our country and kept us all safe.
Listen also to this beautiful, touching song "Love Can Build a Bridge" by 24K Gold Music Shows. Even though strictly speaking it's not a 9-11 memorial song, I still feel it is a very fitting song for the occasion!
