I have "Edgar Emery WTC" engraved on a bracelet from a Christian site where they would send you someone's name for a reminder to pray for this person and his family. I just wanted you to know that I have done so and will continue to do so. May God bless you.

I had a dream about you a few weeks ago and I can't believe it has been 8 years since you and countless others were stolen from us TOO soon. You were a wonderful man and those who knew you personally were lucky. I pray you found peace quickly that day. Today I will wake up early to listen for your name...

I was starting my third week as a high school freshman on 9/11/01. Though I lived on the west coast, far away from ground zero, I'll never forget where or what I was doing that day. I can only imagine what life was like for those directly affected.
On 9/11/02, I found myself going back to school as a sophomore, and reliving, with the rest of the world, the events that occurred the year before. At school we had a program called "United We Remember". Each student chose a victim to remember and received a laminated strip with the persons name, age, home town, and a small picture. I'm honored I chose Edgar, and each 9/11 since I wait for his name to be read from Ground Zero and say a small prayer for Edgar and his family. I wish I knew a little more about him, but from the comments on this page I know he was a kind man.
For the Emery family, and any friends of Edgar's who may come across this; I am so sorry for your loss and I hope you can find a little comfort in knowing that someone in Tucson, AZ has you in her thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry for what had happened to Ed Emery. My prayers are with his family.

I knew Ed from work. He was a gentle man who made everyone feel at ease. He always had a smile in his voice. He will forever be remembered as a true hero who, as usual, thought of others before himself. I've dedicated my volunteer work to his memory....

Ed is my cousin’s father. I will always remember him as a kind and gentle-hearted person.

I know of Ed through my son-in-law, Dan Bennick. Ed was Dan's good friend. Their younger years were spent running together in many marathons. Dan was devastated by Ed's death and still 5 years on hates to talk about 9/11. I am Australian (my daughter married Dan) and visited the WTC 3 months after 9/11. It was very moving. I will never forget it. I had the pleasure of going to Ed's home and having dinner with his wife Liz, a wonderful lady. My prayers and loving thoughts to Ed's family and friends, and to all concerned with 9/11.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
