Relax with the angels up there, Edna. You were such a young, beautiful, and brave woman.

I have been trying to contact you for about 15 years now. You and I were childhood friends, and you cared about me and my family as I did about you and yours. I remember our good times staying at your home. I just found out about your bravery, but I always knew that you were. I wish we could have talked again, but I know I will see you again. I love you and have always missed you. I wish I could have been there to save you.

Edna was so brave! What a waste! What a pity! What a shame! Never forget this tragedy. Do not hate, but never forget. R.I.P., dear Edna!

God bless you for being so strong up there. I was there, too, in the tower, but I was only on the 7th floor when it happened. I do understand the pain you felt up there in that heat, and I know how it was. I just didn't leave the tower. I ran up to the 56th floor to help. Then I heard another loud boom. I looked out a window, and I saw that the other tower was hit. After I got people I wanted to go to the other tower to help out. But one of the fire fighters said it was too dangerous and that I couldn't go. But I helped at least 10 people that were injured or just fine. But I do know what it felt like.

May God be with you,

I am so sorry you had to die, as your brave attempt at surviving was heart-wrenching to witness. I know you are at peace now, but I hope you don't mind if I include your family in my prayers. May God be with you.

Dear Edna,

Just by seeing your braveness standing in that hole, it shows me how brave women can also be. I know that right now you are surrounded by god's angels and god himself. May you rest in peace forever. God bless you for all eternity! You will always be loved!

What strikes me—haunts me, really—was how normal Edna looks there, waving for help in an extraordinary situation, but just a regular person, "just folks," like Faye Dunaway says in Bonnie and Clyde, a regular, everyday human, and in that normalcy lies what terrifies me: It could've been me, or someone I knew, anybody at all. The evil that was responsible for 9-11 just didn't care. God rest your soul, Edna.

It's been almost a decade, and I'm still haunted by the image of Edna waving for help from the gaping wound in the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001. My only consolation is knowing that you are in heaven where there are no more tears, no more death, and no more sorrow.

Dear Edna,

May God bless you and your family always!

I just saw you on Youtube, standing in the edge of the hole of the aeroplane, waving to the outside world. What must have the world seemed to you at that moment? I wonder if you saw the plane hit, and I wonder if you saw that people died around you. You are so brave to stand on the edge and wave to the world. My thoughts and prayers are with you, and I hope that passing from this world to the next was quick and painless. God bless you. x

I will light a candle for you and the other people who suffered on that day. My thoughts go to you and your family. You will see them again. May God be with you always.

God bless you and your family.

Dear Edna:
You are an angel. Tonight we saw the footage of you in the WTC as it burned. It's hard to believe people can do this to other people. I know you must have been a very strong woman because you were a mom. I can't imagine leaving behind my children, especially in such a horrific way. God has you safe in his palm now, and God Bless your children and family.
I am so glad I visited this website. RIP Edna. Love Julie and Terry

Thinking of you today - the 11th of September 2009.

*** Posted by hilary livingstone on 2009-09-11 ***

God only knows what you must have felt standing on the ledge of the WTC after the plane's impact ... none of us here can imagine what that moment must have been like for you. May your spirit be resting with all of the other innocent angels that were so horribly taken away ... senselessly! ... R.I.P., Edna.

I'm speechless—truly a brave woman. Rest in peace, Edna.

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
