I attended the Giants vs Dodger game today at At&T Park. When we walked in they handed us each a card with an American Flag on one side and the name of a 9/11 victim on the other. The name on my card was Edward Ryan. I wanted to find out who he was so I googled him and ended up here. We honored Edward and others lost during the opening of the game and during the 7th inning stretch. Wishing his loved ones much peace.

Ed, We sat across the same desk from each other for one year at Dean Witter in the World Trade Center. Coming to work on the train each morning, I never knew what the market would do - but I knew that you would have a tuna salad sandwich on rye bread for lunch and tell me how much you loved your wife - every day. I also remember how excited you were to close on your home in Scarsdale and start a family. Several years later we met again at a NYMEX party at Windows of the World - and when you introduced me to your wife your face lit up like a kid on Christmas morning. Those are the things you never ever forget about someone. I keep your Carr Futures business card above my computer - and explained the history of it to my 15 year old son yesterday telling him " this was a great man ". Your Forever Friend, Jeff Hammer

Eddie, I think of you often, about what a wonderful friend, co worker, boss and eventually my favorite passenger on the train years later. You inspired in others the best attributes of what it means to be a kind compassionate friend. May God bless your family. -JG

I cannot believe 10 years have passed. You were a wonderful colleague. I enjoyed all the chats we had about your children and know how much you cared for them and your wonderful wife. I think of you and the entire DW/Carr crew everyday. Missing you Eddie! Mary

Eddie, it is hard to believe it will be ten years next month… I could have been yesterday…
I think of you often... Your picture is (and has been) on my desk and will remain there…
I will visit you next month at ground zero…
God bless you and all the victims of 9/11

I didn't know you, but judging by these comments, you were a wonderful person. It's quite a shame, the innocent lives that were lost due to these terrorists. May God watch over your family and friends.
Rest in peace,
Edward

I remember Edward Ryan and his brother. I used to work with them on the trade floor at Dean Witter. He was great boss and a caring person.

I remember Ed from Strathmore, Seagirt, NJ, and the club in Rye, NY. He was a little older than me and more of a friend of my sister. I was friends with his brother, Paul, and his sister, Trish, but he was always cool and had some great cars. My heart goes out to his family, and he is always in my prayers. May he rest in peace.

It was a horrible day for America when the terrorist took a way many people's life. It was even worse for the families. The terrorist didnt even know you. Jsut to take thousands of innocent people. May be some people deserved it but not my uncle. He was a very thought ful and cheerful person. He alwasy put others first instead of him self. His smile would just brighten the room. God do i miss him. My uncle was always active in family actitities. I hope he is at peace in a better place.
All the terrorist will pay sometime.
May god bless all the families who have lost their loved ones.
I feel your pain.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
