Ed was an amazingly fun, energetic spirit....I will always remember our great college times. I am sure that he is sharing his humor and positive energy wherever he is now. thanks for the fun times, Ed!

I will never forget

I think of Ed very often, and on this day more so his family, with a heavy heart that also knows the weight of loss. They too are always in my thoughts.

Memories play back like film. I remember I had to be no older than 10 on a beautiful day in May. I'm 22 now. On this day there was a Carnival that all the kids went to but I wasn't able to go due to no chaperone and lack of money. So I just walked around waiting for kids to come back. I remember this as if it was 5 minutes ago. He was doing some yard work and he said, "You seem bored." He stopped his yard work and took me to the carnival. Paid admission and bought me tickets. Walked around with me until we found people I knew that he felt I was safe with and said, "Don't come back bored." I swear as a kid, this probably was one of the most memorable days of my childhood. Genuinely a nice guy, great father, great man.

Thinking of you today, Ed. It's a testimony to the beauty of your spirit that you could pop into my mind almost ten years later on a rainy afternoon in March.

Ed was one of the lively kids who lived down the block and often played with Dave V. I remember him today at every high school reunion or when I see one of his old friends.

I'm getting married to my girlfriend Libby, of seven years plus, on September 12th. Had 9/11 not happened, you and Linda would have been there to celebrate with us. I'll always remember!

I went to elementary school with Ed. We had a few classes together, and everyone knew him as "the tall kid with the red hair." Just recently, at a high school reunion this past year, I found out that he worked at Cantor Fitzgerald. To Ed's widow and children: I am so sorry for your loss. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Although none of us on the RootsWeb FERGUS mailing list ever met you, we carry your name in our hearts and your family in our prayers. FERGUS is a wonderful and strong family surname, one to be proud of.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
