thinking of you, especially today... watched a tv broadcast of the 10th year remembrance in NYC... heard your name read and then saw your dad reading names and speaking to you directly at the end... brought tears to my eyes and ache to my heart... finding comfort in memories of your wonderful smile and warm personality... feel blessed to have known you at the church and at the high school... miss you my friend... rest in peace knowing you are loved by so many...

You can never be brought back to life, your energy and enthusiasm. But I'm glad to have known you. And I listen for your name every 9/11.

As it comes up on nine years since you've been gone, I always reflect upon your memory with a smile. I hope you are looking down upon all your friends and family and watching over everyone. You will be missed at the reunion this year. God bless you.

It has been 8 years. Still painful. Erik, we attended a wonderful family reunion this past summer, thrown by Grandma R.. Your Dad was there and we so wish you were, too. You will NEVER be forgotten. Never.

I never had the opportunity to meet Erik, but I have the great fortune of knowing his father. Erik must have been an amazing person. I'm so impressed with the Isbrandtsen family and the strength they have. They've done wonderful things for the community and so much in Erik's memory. I'm honored to be their neighbor here in Pickering Wharf!

I did not know Erik personally, but having been a Chief Engineer on many of Isbrandtsen vessels, I heard many stories about him and his family members. It is sad that he was short-changed in life, as he would have had a bright future ahead of him.

Erik, the years pass but the memories live on. I am praying for you and all 9-11 victims on this day, knowing that you have left this world for a better one.
God Bless.

I remember Erik from a family visit to my Grandmother's house, when we were kids. We were probably 12 years (or so) at the time. I recall plenty of laughs - I wish we kept in touch through the years. It is very painful to recollect on this day. I can't believe 5 years has gone by, but I can honestly say that the pain is still there. Erik, you will never be forgotten by your family: both the ones that knew you best, and the ones that wish they kept in touch with you.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
