There's so much going on in my life, and I know you are with me for all of it. I wish I could see your face, hear your voice, and feel your touch.

Miss and love you,

Dear Uncle Eugene,

I miss you very much, and I love you so much. I am very proud of you. My dad misses you, too, just as much as I do. You are my hero.

Hey you,

I was thinking about you a lot today. Just found and watched the tape cousin Kenny made. I'm getting my new apartment together, as well as trying to get my life together. :-) Just trying to make you proud!

Thinking of you today, yesterday and as I will tomorrow. You're in my heart and in the hearts of soooooooo many. Christopher is turning 16 this month. The last time he saw you he was 3 yrs old. You impacted him so much that you are vivid in his memory. He plans on getting a tattoo in your honor when he is old enough. We miss you so much. My family and I are going to Florida next month to visit your family. We will stay with Mary and Tom. I can't wait. Last time I was there was with you. We are taking my children to Disney and many other places.

Sending love and prayers to your family, on the East Coast and your family over here on the West Coast.

Peace and love forever....Not fade away....I love you, Tracie

Uncle Eugene,

We will miss you forever! We know that you've been looking down on us, and we haven't been the best, but we love you and miss you!

Hey, brother,

I was just sitting here thinking about you and dad.... Of course dad doesn't have his own website, so tell everyone up there that I miss them very much. I am getting married in July, but you probably already new that before I did! I am very happy for the first time in my life.... Doreen is my soulmate, just as Tara was yours. We are there for each other, and she means the world to me. Mom and I were talking recently about how she misses Dad so much.... Now, there was an example of two people who loved each other beyond comprehension. We are doing OK down here, but we miss you all very much. Peace out.

I love you, Eug. Go sing with Michael. I remember how you loved when he played guitar. Wow. I miss you both.... Heaven is so lucky to have Eugene AND Mike--more than likely you are rockin' out to something great with a circle of kind friends around you guys. I LOVE YOU FOR EVER AND EVER ... miss you always.

We miss you every day of our lives. We just had a party on Nov 10, 2007 to remember your birthday. The brothers and close friends jumped into the ocean, and then we had a party at Bobby's and Billy's house. It was a great time. I know you were there in spirit because you never missed a good party. I love you and miss you.

Dear FF Eugene Whelan,

Thank you for your service... The flag in front of my house here in Florida flies every 9-11 in your memory and to honor your family from mine.

Today we think of you even more than yesterday. You were such a wonderful friend to our family and we feel so lucky to have known you. We talk of you all of the time and hope that you are looking over us each day. Thanks for leaving us with such great memories, from skating on the block to playing hockey and for just being you. May God Bless you and all those who knew you. We know we have been blessed.... God's Speed Eug!

Eugene was a man of integrity.  He was a man of character.  He was always ready to stop what he was doing and help someone, anyone in need.  He was great with children.  He was always the "life" of the party and had a great sense of humor.  He lived in the moment and was comfortable where ever he was at.  He always fit in, just being himself.  Everyone liked Eugene.  You couldn't help but like him.  He was far from perfect but always lovable.  I would have to say to date, he is the most unique person I have ever known.

I miss you more than words can say.  I want to thank you for the wonderful hands that you left me in.  Your family and friends are one of a kind and have been a wonderful support system.  You always put a smile on my face.  I thank God that I appreciated you and knew how lucky I was.  There is not one day I regret.  Everyday with you was an adventure. Until we meet again.  Save a spot for me, right next to you. Love you.

We love you and we miss you. Can't wait to see you again.
Peace out brother Billy

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
