I remembered Felix and Ivan back in the early days of Fountain Avenue hanging out with his two older brothers. Felix was a very cool kid and Ivan would always be getting into trouble with his mom. I can still hear his mom screaming his name: "Ivan", over and over. I still laugh. Unfortunately, I moved away from the neighborhood and missed their teenage years and they turning to young men. My love goes out to them and their family. Greatly missed everyone and hope that one day I could catch up to everyone.
Love Richard Cancel, Gloria Ortiz and family
God Bless

Our town did a memorial for 9/11...we all planted flags for each person that gave their lives on this day. Felix, I got your name and it brought tears to my eyes even though I never met you. R.I.P.

Tio Felix,
It's been 7 years since you were taken from us. Even though we don't talk about it as much anymore, we all think about you everyday, and you're always in our minds and hearts. I still have the last present that you gave me, the Little Red doll, and I'm holding it now.
Sometimes I can hear Daddy crying at night, and I know it's because he's thinking about you. Grandma and I miss you, and she constantly reminds me of how I'm a mix of you and Tio Ivan.
Even though I was only 7 then, I remember everything about you, from smile to your laugh.
Lots of times, I catch myself looking for your face when I walk in from school. I wonder what you would say if you saw me now, 14 years old, a freshman in high school, and all grown up. I hope that one day, I'll be able to have half of the love that you had. I love you, and I miss you Tio.

Felix,
lol, man, I can remember me being about 12, and we would sit upstairs with Lilly, and lol lol we would play pillow fight, or you guys would jump me because I was little. I remember having my first alcohol beverage with you guys on the front stoop of tio Chu's house! Good times.... Sometimes when things get hard, I know that you listen to me, because, man, do I talk to you! I remember you took me on my first trip to the Mets stadium. That was so cool! Thank you! I remember the last time I saw you.... Right down the hill of Barbey St. You said if I ever needed anything to come see you, if I ever needed a ride to call you. Thank you, Felix! I think I was about maybe 6 when I met you. I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU! YOU WERE MY BIG BROTHER! PS: I bought a car just like your old gold Acura! Only in memory of you.... I love you, punk! You were my DJ hero! Viva freestyle! NY Yankees!

It's been another year, and I still can't stop thinking about you. I miss getting your phone calls; I miss you making me laugh; I miss having you there for me when I need someone to talk to. We knew each other for 15 years, and it's hard to deal with this. You are always on my mind. Every year I light a candle for you, so you know I'm thinking about you. I wish you were her with me. If Gui reads this, can you email me, so I can find out how mom's doing? My email address is jaycee946@hargray.com. Thanks. Always in my heart and in my soul. Love and miss you.

I remember Felix when we were in 4th and 5th grade in the elementary school at ps214. We would be in the auditorium, and he would sit next to me asking all these questions like "what was my name?" and "Did I had a boyfriend?" It was kind of funny becouse he would make me so nervous! I liked him so much, and I was so shy. He is my first memory of Puppy Love! He would sit next to me and ask me until I finally answered or said yes. Then one day Felix asked me for a kiss and I really panicked because, I told him "Felix, but we are in 5th grade!" and we stared laughing. The next time we saw each other was in 10th grade. He still recognized me after all those years. We looked at each other and remembered all those beautiful times. That was the last time we saw each other. I will always remember his beautiful smile when I think of him. My thoughts and prayers go out to all his family and friends.
Love,

Felix and Ivan, Today 5 years after our family lost two wonderful individuals. I still see your smile and your twinkle in your eyes. I can't believe it has been 5 years the pain of not having you two here will never diminish. My tribute to both of you is to never forget you. I know you are looking down and taking care of Tia Iris, Iti, Gui, Mimi and your nieces and nephews. I feel your presence often and I am extremely proud to say that my kids ask about you. We share pictures and stories to keep you both alive in our memories and sprits.
You will forever be in our hearts!
Forever your cousin Ana who will never forget the impact you have on our family.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
