Gone but never forgotten. I smile everytime I remember your smile. Always so warm and greeting. I will treasure the memories we had with "like-a-fete" crew in your apartment. Good times always. R.I.P my friend.

Fitzroy St. Rose. I heard the name called out a year or two ago on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, and I thought to myself: what a wonderful, majestic, peaceful name. Every syllable says something deep and meaningful to me in a way that I cannot quite articulate.

Last evening I visited the 9/11 Memorial and made it a point to find your name. Though I never knew you I feel a strong sense of loss knowing that you are gone.

I have been able to find out more about you via various Internet sites and am heartened to read the reminiscences by the many relatives, friends and acquaintances who miss you.

This stranger will never forget you.

Hello Fitzroy,
I never knew you but I am a Dominican and on 9/11 I heard that we had lost you. Every year at this time, I think of you, my Dominican brother. Rest easy.

It is with sadness that I write this as a fellow dominican. Sorry for the senseless death of so many people. You will be remembered. Seemed you were a nice fellow.

Fitzroy you will always be in our hearts and be remembered the day you were brutally taken away from us. We miss you and love you. May your soul rest in peace.

Fitz, you always looked out for others, even as a student at SMA. You were never happier than when you were helping someone out. In life you were a giver, a friend, a lover... We will always remember you. On this 10th Anniversary of 9-11-01, your memory is as clear as if you were here yesterday... RIP, love...

Almost ten years have pasted since you were taking from me. In that length of time I refused believe to you were gone, hoping you would show up or call on Sunday's like you used to. I couldn't face the truth of what happened to you. So stubborn to the facts of the situation that I couldn't mourn, or even look at your picture. 10 years of sadness, anger, hate, and now joy filled my head... Never ever again will I forget.

Uncle Fitzroy I was in Dominica when it happened and I'm in States now. It's been 9 years. I keep questioning God but I guess my answer will be held. Take care and I love you so muchhhhhhhhhh. Take care.

I will always remember you, Fitz, and I just wanted to write on this site for you on the ninth anniversary. My heart still aches over your tragic, senseless murder. I still pray for your friends and family.

Hey Mr. Fitzroy
Oh, it's been 8 years since you've been gone. We in Dominica and America are remembering your family in our hearts and you as well.
God called you home for a reason and that's why we will see soon again.
We love you :-).

Still shed a tear when I hear them call your name, You were nice, fun to be around, kind of funny and gone too soon! Sorry for what happened to you and all the others!

Fitzroy was always the life of the party. He was funny, troublesome, crazy, loving, and always had you laughing. He was a good friend to many but would give you a permanent headache if you were in love with him. I remembered Fitzroy this year especially on his birthday, April 19th. You will never be forgotten. It still feels like it just happened yesterday.

I was just sitting in my living room, and thought of Fitzroy. I logged on to my computer and entered his name, to find this tribute made out to him. He was a really good friend and I miss him tremendously. He always made me smile and was somewhat of a comedian in his own way. To all, life is so short, and tomorrow is certainly not promised. Be at peace with all and live your life as if it was your last. You never know. God be with you, and to my dear friend: you are gone but not forgotten.

Fitz, I think about you all the time.... I really can't get over what happened to you and many of my other students from the RCS Training Center. Oh, Fitz, I can't bear to think of what has happened to you! Fitz, I will never forget your beaming smile or the diplomacy that you showed all the time in class. And I will never forget some of the experiences in the labs! Oh, my heart still aches after all this time....

I have left the IT field.... I just couldn't bear to stand in front of a room full of students, knowing how so many of my students died that awful day....

I have bought a few alpacas, and a baby was just born this morning that I am going to name after you. Please watch over us, and know that there are many people who are still grieving your tragic death.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
