Be proud of the man he was. x

You are the best American.

I just finished watching, "Inside the Twin Towers," and I was moved by how brave these two men were. I was so sad when I saw that they did not make it; I was really hoping that they would. God bless them and all of the innocents who lost their lives in this tragedy, for they are true high-flying angels now.

Francis Albert De Martini, WHAT A HERO!

This is the story every father can tell his kids when they ask him "Dad ... what exactly is a HERO?"

Rest in peace.

After watching the documentary, "Inside the Twin Towers," my eyes were filled with tears. Frank and Pabo are true heroes that I found myself cheering on, praying and hoping they would make it out right along with everyone else. After learning that he did not make it, I cried myself to sleep and still sometimes do. Sometimes I wish I could have been there that day to be able to help right along with Frank. He is the kind of man I hope to become.

Wow, I read about Dr Frank Martini in "102 Minutes," and he obviously must have been a selfless, kind, and compassionate man. We have to do an essay for a writing course on who our hero is, and after learning about Frank, I chose him, along with Pablo Ortiz. Not all of the heroes on that day wore uniforms. God bless.

Frank was an amazing hero.

I was just watching Inside the Twin Towers and I was brought to complete tears by the heroic efforts of Frank Albert De Martini. Seeing how against all odds he was an angel that shined on this horrific day. Bringing life to so many in need. A reason why so many are alive and families are as one. A man that will always be honored in my heart. For he is angel in every sense.
My thoughts and prayers always to his loving wife and children.

I was young in 2001, so I was not able to really get to know Frank but my mother speaks of him very fondly. After reading all of these comments I am proud to say that I knew Frank and our families were good friends. The De Martinis are such good people, I am so sorry for your loss, but know that he has saved and inspired many people across the world. <3

I've been researching 9/11, and my prayers go out to the Martini family. Frank Martini was a hero, and an example that I will try to live my life by.

De Martini,

You are what heroes are made of. God love you.

I watched "Inside the Twin Towers," and I saw what you did. You were a very brave man, and you deserved to continue to live. But at least now you are at peace.

*** Posted by Olivia on 2010-06-27 ***

Frank is a hero. He is certainly in a better place now.

I have a great respect for what this man did. Having saved numerous persons, I shall call his act an act of bravery. A man is a great man who is for me God's reincarnation, being not at all afraid of death. I shall pray till the end of my life for this man and that God blesses his family.

Words cannot describe the heroism of Mr De Martini, Mr Ortiz, and the others that helped them in the rescue of over FIFTY civilians trapped because of Flight 11. The word "hero" is overused, but these gentlemen for me are the biggest and bravest of them all. R.I.P., and I hope to see you sometime and somewhere....

You're a true hero for what you did that day. You will never be forgotten by the people you saved and their families.

Dear Nicole and children,

I thought I'd let you know I still think of Frank often. You are all in my prayers. Those of us who still live on Vanderbilt Avenue speak of him often with admiration and respect.

People like Frank de Martini and NYPD officer Moira Smith showed true heroism and love for their fellow man in their actions on that dreadful day. They are now in peace in paradise.

I have read a lot about the tragedy of 9/11, but the story of the courage, bravery, and strength that Frank De Martini showed on that day will stay with me forever. I wish that I had had the good fortune of knowing him, but even though I didn't, I will always remember his story and will pray for him and his family. We need more men in this world like Frank De Martini. May he rest in peace knowing that he is an inspiration to us all.

Frank,

Please can I just say the efforts you made on that most horrible day, September 11th, 2001, are simply inspiring. Your acts of heroism have inspired me to be a better man. R.I.P. Hope to talk one day. May god bless. x

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site.
