Frank was a great guy. I worked with him at Beirbaum Martin in 1989 and 1990. I was a newbie out of college, trying to figure my first job and Wall Street out. The currency brokers there were a bunch of characters, making me do all sorts of stuff, as part of the general hazing process that a young kid goes thru. Frank, with his flock of seagull haricut, used to ask me what I wanted for lunch, if he could get me the NY Post, or a soda. He did so because that was his way of showing me how to treat someone. He was kind, generous, funny, laughed a lot, was a great currency broker, and most importantnly, a nice person. To Franks family, he taught me one of his great traits...kindness.

I wore Mr. Spinelli's name as a tribute in remembrance on 9/11/2010 and left it posted on my board to remember to pray for him and his family every day. I came to this site because I wanted to know the man I pray for.

I worked with Frank @ Bierbaum Martin in the early 90's - He was such a talented genuine great guy - I remember he was also a volunteer for Emergency Svcs in NJ. God must take the best ones early. He came to my wedding and I have footage of him dancing with his wife (sorry I can't recall the name) if anyone in his family would like a copy. God Bless Always

I worked at a steamship company in 1980 with Frank Spinelli and Katrina Velsor (who previously posted) and can attest that our Frank was a great man, and I hope that he wasn't the Frank who was killed with so many others 9 years ago.
To the family of the Frank who passed in the attack: I can only wish you the best and to know that none of the victims will ever be forgotten. I worked at WTC North Tower for several years in the mid '80s, and I always have a moment of silence on every 9/11 since that awful day.

Dear Frank,
As I serve in the Army, there isn't a day that goes by that thoughts of you, your family, and my father do not cross my mind. That was the day that I knew I would grow up and serve in the military. I hope we are serving you well, and God bless. We miss you.

i worked with a man named Frank J. Spinelli in New York in 1980 at a steamship company and wonder if he is the same man. I hope and pray that it was not. He was funny, dedicated, kind and compassionate. He always called me "Special K". If this was him, or a member of his family, know that there are hundreds of people out there who knew him and respected him that you probably never met. If it is not, I am sure your Frank was equally respected and loved. Regardless, he was a hero and I will Never Forget...

I did not know Mr. Spinelli, but he and all those who gave their lives on 9/11 are true American Heroes.

As I sat here watching the names being read, as I have watched for 6 years, I heard Frank Spinelli. When I saw the photo, I knew immediately that this was the Frank "Speedy" Spinelli that I had attended college with at SUNY Farmingdale. If the family members are reading this, please know that Frank will be in my prayers forever. He represented life at 18, with a smile that lit up the world, as he is still doing from above. You are all in my heart.

There are no words that could possibly describe the type of man Mr. Spinelli was and what he means to me. I say "means" in the present tense because he still lives and will continue to live in my heart and mind everyday. A devoted father, husband, son, brother and friend he was the type of man that everyone wanted to be close to. He was one of my best friends and like a second father to me. It's hard to explain, but easy to understand that words are insignificant when compared to the experience of actually spending time with him. I'm sorry to those that never had the privilege of meeting and spending time with Mr. Spinelli because you will never truly understand what you missed. For those that understand what I'm talking about, we are truly blessed to have been graced by his presence. People always say time heals all wounds, but I realize it is just as hard now as it has ever been. It makes it harder for me because I know what we have all lost. One thing is for sure though, Mr. Spinelli will never be forgotten.
God Bless the Spinelli Family and all those affected by this day.
~ Some people come into our lives and quickly leave. Others stay for a while and leave footprints on our heart, and we are never, ever the same. ~

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
