On this very special anniversary I remember Dr. Rimmele. I can only imagine the great things he would have done had his life not been cut so short. It was a privilede to work with him.

I did not know him or his family but upon my trip to Washington D.C. this past year I bought a tribute bracelet with a random name on it. Frederick Charles Rimmele 111 was the one I was given. Though I did not know him or any of his relatives I am writing this as some comfort to his family. I know it might be a bit late but I felt compelled to show I cared. RIP Frederick Charles Rimmele 111, I am praying for your family.

I am one of the daughters of Robert William Rimmele and Theo Marie Rimmele. I was born in Sacramento, CA and grew up in San Diego, CA. My older sister is Christine Marie Rimmele (deceased), and my younger brother is Carl Theodore Rimmele. Chris died of cancer on December 1, 1991; Carl is married to Michele and has 2 daughters (Nicole and Alexandra). I am married to Joel D. Sosmena, and we are living and working in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Mom and Dad are in their early 80's and living in Washington State; the same for Carl and Michele and their daughters. I have an uncle, Father Leo Rimmele, OSB, also living in Washington State.

Dr. Rimmele is my hero because he was a very good man. He understood me, even when I was angry or depressed. So, I nominate Dr. Frederick Rimmele as my hero, He was on United Flight 175.

May God continue to be with his family. I knew him closely, he was my Doctor while being a resident Maine Dartmouth Family Practice, Fairfield, Maine.

I wish to contact the family of Frederick Charles Rimmele, age 32, from Marblehead, Mass. a victim of Flight 175. My father, deceased, was Edward Frederick Rimmele, born 7/29/1909, the son of Elizabeth Rimmele and Edward Rimmele. He had a sister, Charlotte Rimmele (dec'd) and Margaret Martin (Rimmele). Our family would like to know if Dr. Rimmele was related to our father's family and also send our heartfelt condolences. His name is engraved with all the other victims' names on the Memorial Fountain at the exhibit on display at the California State Fair and brings tears to my eyes.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
