I did not know gary geidel at all, but like so many others this weekend I am thinking about that day and about the men and women who gave their lives in the ultimate sacrifice. The thought of the police officers and firefighters in particular, humbles me when I think of them forging ahead into danger, when it would not have been cowarly to flee instead. That is the kind of life that goes beyond bravery. When I looked at the photo of gary geidel, it seemed to me that there was just something about his face that would comfort and inspire others in danger -- they would know that they were in good hands. May you all see him again one day, for he surely earned an honored place in the hereafter.

Hey, Uncle Gary,
It's been a while since I posted on here; over five years. And my spelling has improved, which I'm sure you'd be proud of.
I still miss you so much. There are a lot of things I can't remember about you — like your voice, especially. But those memories that I do have, I treasure. I do know what a good man you were, though, from the stories about you that Gram still tells me, and my fading memories. I just wanted to say that I love you; I love you.
See you soon.

Today is the ninth anniversary of the day that evil took you from your friends and family. Even though every day since then you're thought of by someone, somewhere, this date somehow makes the feeling of your loss go a bit deeper. My heart aches for your family today, Gary, and my thoughts are with them. May you rest in peace knowing that you are loved, missed, and remembered.

Gary,
As I travel all across the USA, not one day passes that I don't think of you. As time goes by, some people forget that horrible day that took you and so many others. I make sure you will never be forgotten. I love you and miss my beautiful son. We will meet again someday.

Hi Gary,
I will never forget. You were a great man and a great friend. You showed me how a real man should be. Gary, you are very much alive in our hearts and minds. I love you, brother. May god bless, Gary.

I was assigned Gary's name through Project 2996 to remember those who died in the Sept. 11 attacks. I've posted what I learned about him on my own blog. http://blog.darbig.com/2009/09/please-remember-gary-p-geidel.html
To Gary's family and friends, I didn't know him, but I'm honored to have been given his name. I have learned a lot about him in the past 24 hours, and I hope that you are at peace with it all, or that you may at least be someday.
Take care, God bless.

Hello from Miami, Florida. It's very sad what happened. I can't believe it sometimes. I didn't know Gary, but he seems like a great person. I'm very sorry. To this day, it hurts what happened, especially when the anniversary day comes around each year. Good luck and god bless to Gary's family....

Uncle Gary,
It's been more than 6 years since you were taken from us, but it seems like yesterday you were sitting in Grandma's living room with me chewing your ear off. I wish you were here to see me now; you would be so proud of me. Jimmy and I joined the Navy, and you were the biggest inspiration in that. You know we always wanted to be just like you! I miss you so much, not a day goes by where I have to fight back my tears. You will ALWAYS be my hero. I hope one day I can be half the man you are. I love you, and I will see you again one day.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
