I went to school with Gary Lee Bright from elementary all the way through high school. Gary was loved by everyone. He was funny and kind. A joy to be around. Today is the 10-Year Anniversary of 9/11. I felt compelled to make sure Gary and all the other heroes we lost are remembered.
Gary you are remembered and my thoughts and prayers continue on for your family. Your Classmate, Corina (Upchurch) Marlow.

Gary was my cousin but I didnt even know him. Ive only met him when I was a baby. I was only in 3rd grade when 9/11 happened, so I never really understood and it honestly didnt effect me much then because I didnt know him. Im now 18 years old and reading all of this makes me sad. He sounded like a really nice and good hearted guy. Just like my Aunt Anna, his Momma. It just makes me sad to know that I couldve known someone really great and couldve known another family member and had a cool cousin. Rest in peace Gary!

I worked with Gary at Wilson's in NYC. He was such an amazing man. I was shocked and saddened when I found out he was lost in the WTC. I will never forget him. He made his crazy world a better place; it is not the same without him. I wish his family peace.

Gary was a friend in High School, and I heard the day they posted the names that he was one of the many--but had no way of contacting Jennifer (his sister) to give her my heart-felt sorrow. Gary was in many of my classes, and I remember working on several projects together. Much like Gary, I left Muncie and never looked back. It sounds like he had a great life, and I'm sure he touched many hearts. Please pass on to Jennifer that I wish I could speak to her and catch up on old times. I look back at our yearbook from time to time and wish I'd kept up with everyone.

I worked with Gary at Wilson's for 2 years. He was no-nonsense and fun at the same time. I have a quote book that I always ask special people I meet to write in. Gary was one of those people. Some of the things he wrote to me were, "God gave you strength for a mission," "Use the passing of others, ideas, and thoughts to keep moving forward," and "Watch out for the freekie Deeks" (an inside joke). I was hoping to have a long-lasting friendship with Gary, but it was cut short. I treasure the time we had together, and I'm happy that I got to know him. He's in heaven making sure God's financial statement is on point.
Love you too, Sweetie.

It's taken me 3 years to finally visit this site. I worked with Gary at Wilsons as a waiter. At the time Gary and I both worked 2 full time jobs. When our tables slowed down, we would go outside for air. We would talk about why we worked 2 jobs and what our dreams for the future were. I loved talking and listening to Gary. He was driven, wonderful, gentle, funny, sweet, and practically an angel - he was that nice. The world is missing a wonderful person today.

Many years after the tragedy of 9/11 it still hurts my heart, but it hurts even more knowing I had a friend who died. I met Gary when I lived in Indiana and gasped when I saw his face on this list of pictured victims. I can't imagine what he went through on that day, but only pray that he is in peace with God. Gary was a wonderful guy and we will never forget him.

For the better part of 20 years, out of thousands of people I would encounter on and off, Gary was a friend I didn't see much of but one that garnered more respect from me then anyone I met on a frequent basis. He was a wonderful guy and someone who left and indelible impression on me. He was a beautiful human being!

It has taken many years to get up the guts to visit and to write on a tribute page. It's not that I didn't love you it is that the whole thing lives in my mind each day. I am Gary's cousin. I lived with him at the house in New Jersey and I was 1 of the couple people that knew he work at the WTC. Gary was mad at me on 9/11. The day before I had cut up a tshirt that I thought was mine and I guess it was his so he left me a note telling me about myself. Gary was sweet. He was a hardworking man and never made time for play. I still remember the day that we went to work together on the bus and he told me that he worked at WTC. He told me don't tell anyone mom doesnt know yet.I didnt tell until 9/11 when I had to relay that message. Gary you were one of a kind and I hope that you are in heaven smiling down on us with grandma nene. Love you, Lindsey

I went to High School with Gary, I have just found out he was a tragic victim amongst so many other innocent lives lost in the WTC on that day NO ONE will ever forget.
I just want to say that the world has lost a very nice man. He always had the ability to make others laugh and enjoy his company. I wish his family peace, god bless you all.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
