I am saddened to have just learned of George passing. I somehow missed this information. As fate would have it, I guess I was not meant to find out until now. I am a Wesley College graduate and classmate. When I think back to our college days, I cannot help but see George's smiling face and beautiful eyes. What a great guy he was! As a freshman, he welcomed my friends and I. As a cheerleader, he cheered louder than I. At field hockey games, even if he was just passing by, he cheered us on. George had everlasting spirit which he passed on to all. What a wonderful friend. He is loved and missed. George, you will never to be forgotten.

I just wrote your mom a note, but I guess I'll tell you anyway since you'll read the note more than likely. (LOL) I miss you more than words can describe and the world will never be the same without you. I know we all say and feel you are with us but that is our human way of coping, the real you here with us is what we really need to live life, because you were LIFE and just standing next to you at Yesterday's was living for me. Obadiah's was only the beginning for us, you telling me to fold 50 extra napkins while you pretended there was bigger work to attend to like BSing with the cooks in the kitchen. We were the best runners on Fri. and Sat. night that place has ever seen. Without us where would they be today? I hate to think of it. (LOL) I'm sure you don't. Oh that's right you are already taking care of that just like everything else. I know most people won't get this but you will and that is all I care about. You are the best George P. McLaughin and will always be. But to truly sum it up there has never truly been someone who cared about everyone's feelings even when you joked, it was to make them feel good not to hurt, and I know it bothered you if they took it the wrong way. That's why you love that John Cougar song so much and now I do, too. I love you and miss you more.

Love,
Trish

Georgie:
I love you and miss you tremendously. I only wish I had been old enough to get to know you better! But from what I have gotten to know you through our family, and the little time I did have to "hang out" with you, you have showed me nothign but AMAZING features. Characteristics that only most people can dream about having! I feel like I have gotten to know you more through listening to our family talk about you, but I knew enough about you to know that you'd hate the sadness and embrace the happiness. So you live it up while you are up there! And I can't wait to join you when the time is right so I can learn to know you better! You are greatly missed by so many! GOD BLESS YOU!! :)

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
