I knew George since Elementary School. We went to the same church and became Christians together. We both love the Yankees. We had great discussions walking home from school. George lived just a few blocks from me growing up. He was a great friend- very thoughtful and smart. He was a good example for others to follow. It was unbelievable to discover that this actually happened. I know he is now with our Lord.

I doubt that we are related but I have always kept Mr. Strauch in my thoughts, especially each year on Sept. 11. This year, I used the 9/11 Facebook app to dedicate my status to him. I wish all good things for his family.

George and I went to Kearny High together. We also played little league baseball together. Great guy. I will really miss him, as will all of his senior class of 1966.

My name is Jan Tucker. I worked at American General Life Insurance in Dallas, TX, and we paid your claim from this tragedy. I took great pride in knowing that we provided some financial support during this time. Every September 11th, I re-read my list of 17 claims that I personally paid, and my thoughts and prayers are with your family. I WILL NEVER FORGET.

George was my fraternity brother. I was out of contact with him because I worked overseas and then lived in Oklahoma, and I had not seen him for some 15-20 years. I called in the summer of 2001, and he invited my son and I to visit him in the WTC and see the parade of ships. That was always my long-term plan which will never be realized. George was one of the smartest men I ever knew. More than that, he CARED! May he rest in peace, and may his family will continue his legacy. I remember driving in a car with George and other frat brothers in Newark and singing "I'm a Believer" as loud as possible around NCE. Goodbye, George.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
