On Friday, 9-11-09, at 8am Mass at St Patrick Church, Carlsbad, CA, the school children passed out paper hands with names of those who lost their lives on 9-11-01. Mine had Gerald O'Leary, age 34, Stony Point, NY. That day and every day from now on, I plan to add Gerald to my prayers. I will also remember his family, especially his son. I have a son, Michael, and had a son, Patrick. May God's peace be with you.

I can't think of anything else I'd rather be doing right now than spending time with you. As you know, I think of you daily and still can't figure out what happened. Life isn't the same. He is a miracle, Jerry. He is the image of you and has the same sense of humor (a little weird). He is like a light -- everyone who meets him, loves him. He has the personality of a politician. She is doing a FANTASTIC job. You would be proud.
Love you Jerry.

It is time to bake Jerry O'Leary's mother Julie's recipe for Irish soda bread with raisins and caraway. I saw it in "Bon Apetit" in October, 2002 as submitted by Patrice Bedrosian. As I do, I will once again say a special prayer for Jerry and all the other heroes lost that day.

I played basketball with Jerry at St. Mary's. I will never forget Jerry, he was in the fifth grade and I was in fourth. I would take a shot at the hoop and say Gerry. it was an honor to know such a man with a kind smile. He I did look up to as a child. Your friend cliff

I remember Jerry from St. Mary's. He was my schoolmate, and I am truly sorry that he is gone. I just wanted to say that I remember him fondly and wish his family well.
God bless.

There is always a friend.
There is always is a family man.
There always will be a man that will treasure family
ahead of himself.
The only thing that I thought mattered was myself until I
met Jerry .
Jerry had a brothers love to me that even my own brother could not compair too. We spoke and confided in each other on things only family would. I felt like if I gave up my own family and Jerry would be the only one that I could believe in. I trusted my feeelings with him and what I needed to do because of the love between us. And this wasn't Love that was given but transformed into a equal partnership that made us almost as one. His family and mine and his family to be still was considered one. Maybe not to all but ourselves.
Love you Scott

Jerry was kind and loving. EVERYONE who knew him liked him. He was just that kind of guy. He was a chef, so no matter where he went, he ended up behind the barbecue or in the kitchen. He never minded though, because he really loved cooking. Jerry was my little brother, but he was definetly more of an adult than I ever was. We had a lot of great times together and I don't know if I ever told him how much he meant to me. I miss him so much. He could make you smile just by looking at you. He had that effect.
I think of you every day.
Love, Donna

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
