Lizz, its been 10 years, so hard to believe its been that long. It is still difficult for me to put my arms around why this happened, why this happened to you. I am still deeply affected by your passing, by 9/11 events.
You and our former Discovery family are not far from my thoughts. Today I learned Beth has joined you, she loved you dearly, she shared stories with me on our travels. I am comforted that you have such a dear friend with you. God Bless.....

I remember you Liz mostly by your smile. It was beautiful and warm. I had the privilege of working with you during your senior year a CHS on our school news paper. When I found out you were on Flight 93 I cried and again your smile flashed through my mind. On today this 10th Anniversary I again see your smile and remember the kindness and dedication you already displayed as a 17 year old girl.

It is coming up on the 10th anniversary of the worst day in American history. There isnt a week that goes by that I dont think about the cowardly acts carried out against a lot of innocent people.I knew Lizz and her family pretty well and still get chills when I think about what happened. You are missed every second of every day. Peace to you and everyone that suffered that day and continue to feel the effects.

I wear the picture of her and her stepmother on my Comcast work badge. She has brought me many, many, many moments of dedication in my work place. I still tear up on the phrase, "I can feel your arms around me" that Elizabeth said and her stepmother's reply, "And I love you, too." God CONTINUES TO bless me with the love of her in my heart forever....

For Elizabeth,
I saw the film documentary for the flight you were on. I couldn't grasp that a softhearted person like you would have to be forced into such misfortune. The film did a good job of being accurate about graciousness and kindness in your character. This tragedy reminds all of us that evil may separate us from those we love but not from those within our heart. It’s assuring knowing that you, Elizabeth, are in the hearts of millions who will therefore remain inseparable forever. Peace and eternal comfort. No more pain. One Love.

Dear Elizabeth,
I never got a chance to meet you when you were still alive, but hopefully when I get to heaven, maybe we can talk about the good things that god gave us. Rest in peace, Liz.

Dear Elizabeth,
I watched the film "Flight 93," and I was so moved by your brave and loving character for such a young woman. The bible says that the Christian church will outlive the universe, and so will your role in it, Elizabeth. You showed the world and future generations that you fulfilled your purpose on earth by your wise actions and steadfast courage on 9-11. I am so honored that we share the same name. God bless you.

I'm remembering Flight 93 and my friend Lizz tonight. We never got to have that lunch on Thursday, after the manager's conference, after the world changed forever — you will always be my hero. God bless you and keep you in His loving arms.

Lizz,
After 9 years, it still seems weird to me that you were on that plane. I will always remember you as my cheer-leading Wonder twin and high school would not have been the same without you. Your life is a lesson in living every day to the fullest because you don't know when it will end. I will carry that with me for the rest of my days and strive to live mine and you did yours.

Hi Elizabeth,
I am back from Afghanistan. In March, there was a chance to meet you in heaven. I was shot down in a helicopter race mission and following a firefight took place, but I survived. Next year 9/11 is ten years ago, but nevertheless we will never forget you and the other victims of 9/11.
Yours Tom

Honor Elizabeth Wainio, may God bless you. Even though I did not know you personally, I will never forget you, nor the other heroes of 9/11. I believe that your mom lives in Port St Lucie, FL, my hometown, and I hope very much to meet her someday and learn more about you.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
