Honor Elizabeth Wainio, may God bless you. Even though I did not know you personally, I will never forget you, nor the other heroes of 9/11. I believe that your mom lives in Port St Lucie, FL, my hometown, and I hope very much to meet her someday and learn more about you.

Hello, Elizabeth,

It's me again. Tomorrow I will go for a second time to the country of terrorism's origin, Afghanistan. I often think of you and of the fright of 9/11. God bless you.

[Hi. I'm Mexican, and it impacted me a lot. I cried night after night for Elizabeth. I never knew her, but upon seeing the movie, "Flight 93," I took up a lot of tenderness for her—I don't know why. To her mother I give my condolences. When I was 9 years old, I wrote a lot of little books about what happened on the 11th of September of 2001. Elizabeth is always in my mind and my memory. I know that she is in the Lord Jesus Christ. I'm 12 years old, and I hope that the world learns peace and love. No more violence, please. In honor of Honor Elizabeth Wainio.]

I too am a Catonsville High Graduate although a little older than you (1982). I have been so touched by your story and bravery on 9/11 probably because it hits so close to home. Your family and friends do indeed suffer the grief of your life being cut short but they also experience the wonder you brought to their lives each and every day you were here. I still live in Catonsville now and please know that my young children have been taught of your selfless act of bravery on that fated flight eight years ago today. As I have taught my children of your courage and the courage of all the others that had their lives taken that day, they will teach their children for generations. Your friends, family, and strangers like me will never let your memory or bravery fad away. As the Catonsville community waves the flags over the Frederick Road overpass this morning and every 11th of each month, see them flying and know we are waving to you up in heaven. Bless you and your loved ones that miss you, I will always remember and will be honored to meet you in heaven one day.

Dear Elizabeth,

Another year has gone. I will never forget you.

I did not know you or any of the passengers on flight 93, yet I feel a sense of loss, as I did for all innocents that were taken on that fateful day. My heart sincerely goes out to all of you, your families, and the many lives you all touched. Though I'm a stranger, I'm so proud of all of you. You will never be forgotten. God bless.

I never met you, but I admire you (and everyone on united 93) for the courage you had. Because of you, so many other lives were saved. You are truly an American hero. I hope you are at peace. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. God bless.

Hello, Elizabeth,

I didn't know you, but from from the story of your selfless sacrifice in the face of unadulterated evil, Elizabeth, you are America's hero. Your memory will live on. Your voice will whisper through the ages, and 9-11 will forever be locked in America's minds. Rest in peace, Liz, and maybe when I come to heaven, we can talk.

Hi! I’m Ben from Buenos Aires, Argentina! I feel bad for all the people who died at hands of cowards! You were young, full of life like the rest of the passengers of your flight and the others. I will always remember you! I pray for all the heros of that day! God bless you! We will meet someday! Best wishes to all their families!

Dear Elizabeth...

I just finished watching "Flight 93," and I was crying. I don't know you, but I wish I did. Bless your soul and all the other souls who died on 9/11. God bless you.

Honor, I know your mom preferred you be called Elizabeth, and I love and respect her for that memory, but for me every time I hear your name, I can feel your presence, and it makes me feel you are doing fine. When I see your mom I can also see a person that's so full of love and understanding. She lifts every one up with her outreach of love.

Hi Elizabeth,

It's me again. Since one hour ago it is the year 2009 in central Europe. I wish you all the best (in your new world), and I promise that the fight against terrorism will go on--especially my own efforts. I will never forget you.

You will forever live in our hearts. May your soul rest in peace.

Dear Liz,

I'm looking forward to the day when we will meet for the first time! The whole world and universe is not big enough to contain the love I have for you! Its without end! Even eternity is not big enough! You are a great American hero in every sense of the words!

*** Posted by St Joseph on 2008-10-27 ***

Happy 35th Birthday, Lizz. I think of you daily and miss your smile. You are a true hero. I will continue to keep your family in my heart and prayers.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
