He was a great person. My husband knew him from when he was young. I, too, knew him since then. He would do what he could for people. He enjoyed oldie music and had a good sense of humor and laughed a lot and didn't let things bother him. He was friendly to people and was a great person. He enjoyed eating hot dogs and was in a contest for Nathan's eating hot dogs. We are very saddened. I just found this website.

Hello Reich family,
I am sending you a note in regards of Mr. Reich. I live in Carlisle Iowa and in Tribute to all that were lost on 9-11 our capitol, Des Moines, had a very large area of flags with yellow ribbons attached to them flying for a week. This field was called the "Healing Fields". I went there to pay tribute and to pray for all those that were lost that day. The organization that was sponsoring this field of flags is the Hospice of Iowa. You were able to purchase a flag with the yellow ribbon and name. Well, long story short, I have Mr. Reich's name and flag, and I am very proud to own it. I will keep this flag with Mr. Reich's name on it for as long as I live. I am in hopes that it will remain in my family forever.
I was overwelmed when I saw the many many flags flying that day and I am so sorry for your loss and what he went through that day. Thank you for the chance to have something of his he will never be forgotton.
Sincerely with Love,
Candice Lusk

I knew Howie when we were teenagers. He was a fun guy. We were so poor, that when we met girls and were taking them out, our slogan was "to the park!", because it was free. He wasn't very smart or educated, but a genuinely good and kind person. Be with God, Howie!

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
