Every day for years I have prayed for you Jimmy, after saw your poster on the memorial wall. You were so young, but now you are happy with God. May the peace of Christ be with you and your family, Ben

Yesterday,I was honored to be part of a community choir that performed the Mozart Requiem (Rolling Requiem) on the 10th anniversary of that terrible day. At the end of each program was a name of one of those who died. James Francis Quinn is the name on my program, so I wanted to see if I could find out who he was.
Although I never met James (although it sounds like he was more "Jimmy" than James), you can be assured that I will keep him and his loved ones in my prayers.

Like the earlier post, I was also just visiting NYC in Dec 2001 and saw the same poster! I took a photo and saw it tonight..the 10th anniversary. I felt a connection and we never met. RIP Mr Quinn... and peace to his friends and family!

My wife and I were in NYC 12/21/01, and we went down to the site. There were pictures of loved ones everywhere. We saw Jimmy's photo on a green background, someone wishing him a happy 24th birthday. We took a photo of the shrine, and we have put it into our screen-savers. Anytime we get a glimpse of that green background, we always say, "There's Jimmy." He is in our thoughts every day.

We just want his family to know that others are thinking of Jimmy. I can guarantee we will never forget him.

All our love,

Hey, Jimmy,

Just wanted to let you know that I still think about you often. I love and miss you. I know you're still there watching over us. You were so amazing, and I count myself truly blessed to have known you.

Love,
Your favorite Buckley

I am a police officer for the Dayton Airport Police in Ohio. I have recently been assigned to the k9 bomb detection unit. I was given a 19-month-old chocolate lab named after James Quinn. It is an honor to have his name carried on through our program.

Today is 9/11, and I googled victims. My first hit was a website providing random names of the fallen and encouraging people to post a blog about the name they got. I got Jimmy's name, so of course I looked him up. I am in Portland, OR and I did not know him, but reading these comments leads me to think he was a handsome, promising, fun young man who brought love and smiles to those who knew him. His loss must be such a hard blow. I will think of Jimmy today and hope has found peace and a great party, wherever he is.

Hey Quinny, I was on the computer today I saw your screen name on my IM buddylist. I still haven't removed it and never will. It's my way of keeping a little bit of you with me everyday. It's been 5 long years and I think of you all the time. I miss you and love you!

Hey Jimmy... I still think about you and Miss you. Your voice still echoes in my mind and brings a stupid smile to my face. I hope your up there looking down on me if so, hook a kid up. You were one of a kind I just wish I would have told you. I love you...

Jimmy,
Look at our Mets.... AMAZING Season.... It's hard to believe it is 5 years. When I think about the last time we spoke, we were talking about the 2000 Mets. We were on the train en route to Shea. You are missed

Hey Jimmy, The last time I saw you was after college at a Fenwick's Anniversary party. I think it was the Thursday night before Tuesday September 11, 2001.  I will always hold on to the memory of your beautiful smile and how you made us all laugh that night and always.  As you always say Jimmy, "One More!"  Everyone hold up your pointer finger and shout out "one more" for Jimmy Quinn! My thoughts and prayers are with the Quinn family.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
