I think of Jim often. We sat together in homeroom at SBBHS for four years. We had lockers beside each other in the hallway and in the football locker room for four years. We started each day with our thoughts on sports, school, girls, and life. It is so hard to believe that he was gone in an instant. He was a good friend for the four years we spent together at SBBHS, 1968-1972.

My thoughts today go out to Sean and DJ. I had just seen some new footage of that horrible day and instantly thought of you both. Out of love from my husband, Sacha Woodward, and me, we wish you both the best and would love to keep in touch.... I am a little reluctant to leave my cell phone number on this site, but please contact me via email if you want: woodward (dot) lindsay (at) ymail (dot) com

I happened upon this web site while researching the architect of the White House, James Hoban. I cannot in good conscience simply click off without expressing my sympathy to Mr. Hobin's family and to all the families who had to endure the horror that was 9/11. Time softens memories, but no one will ever forget that fateful day, and our lives will always center around pre September 11th and post September 11th. This, too, was a day that shall live in infamy.

I remember Jim frequently, as I do many other friends lost that tragic day. I worked with and shared an office with Jim for many years. He was a great guy whom I feel privileged to have known. God bless you, Jim, you will not be forgotten.

Six years have passed, but the memories remain strong. Jim's kindness to others, his sense of humor, those twinkling eyes, and that great smile are sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Shelia, Sean, and DJ.

I was trawling the net looking for "Hobin family" items and found this tribute page to Jim. As a fellow Hobin living in the U.K. (Felixstowe), who may or not be related in some way, I would like to pass mine and my wife Sandra's sympathy to Jim's family for their sad loss.

I don't know if the late James L. Hobin and I were related, but in any case, I feel deeply sad. May all Hobins around the world find peace, love and happiness in their lives!

I was researching the Hobin name for our family tree and discovered this site. I was unaware that a Hobin had been a victim of this tragedy. Whether he was related to us or not (We are from Ontario, Canada with relatives in California), I'd like to express my deepest sympathy to his family for their loss.

Jim was a loving husband and friend for 31 yrs before his untimely death that fateful day. I will always love him and will join him again someday. His two boys miss him terribly and pray each day that he is at peace. I know he is watching over us in heaven as he did in life. I miss him so and will until the day that I die. He can never be replaced.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
