I remember Jim. I dated him in 1991. He was a very nice guy and he loved his family so much. I was heartbroken when I heard that he had died on 9/11. His family and wife are in my thoughts and prayers.

James worked at a small company called Market Vision in a little room they called "The Swamp." I met my wife there, and we became friends with Jim as we fell in love with each other. Jim came to our wedding, and a couple of years later, we were guests at Jim and Jennifer's wedding. He bought a Corvette just like mine.
When the phone rang, we were watching the horrific images on the TV. We didn't even know Jim had taken a job at Cantor, or that Cantor was on the 104th floor of the North Tower. God Bless you, Jim, we remember you.

I am surprized that no comments have been added about James Sands. I am sure his many friends do not know of this web site. I just now found it (January 13, 2007). I first met James in high school. We quickly became friends and remained close even after we were each married and lived 1000's of miles apart. There are not words to describe the respect I have for James. He was simply amazing. He was very smart and gave great advice.
In fact, 3 of the best things in my life now is from advice I took from James. They are: taking the chance on starting my own business, moving over 3000 miles away for a "life change", and the best advise he gave me, was to give "the new office girl" a chance. My business is now very successful. I have over 275 employees and operate in 3 states today. My sales last year was a record 375 million, with increases each year. I have been married to "the new office girl", Beth, for 14 wonderful years. People told me I was dumb to move so far, and dumb to quit my job to start my own business. My friends also told me not to get involved with Beth, they said she was "trouble" (not true by the way). James was the one that told me to go after my dreams and it will always work out. There was many nights (and days) I had second thoughts and called James. He was always positive and told me to hang in there. SO many times I wanted to give up and move back home. All my friends besides James at one time or the other did tell me to move back home. But not James! And he was the one that was correct.
I think of James every day. He was a great guy, a great friend, a great person and my angel. I do miss James a lot now. I wish he could see how things have worked out for me. Things were just beginning to take off for me in the summer of 2001 and James would always say, "See? I told you." My company finally showed a profit in the beginning of 2002. Thanks James Sands. You are a great guy. I miss you.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
