Jane Orth was a kind and sharing person. We were neighbors in Salem NH. Like myself, she was a single Mom. Her three children and my two children were childhood friends. What a big heart she had! She would invite my children to stay with her and her children at Hamptom Beach each summer. I remember talking to her over the telephone to thank her. One week with my kids was a great time for my kids, but it was time for them to come home. Jane persisted and said, on no! I want them here for one more week for all the kids were having a wonderful time. Never once did she ask for one dime! That is the person she was. Giving, kind, a great mother and a great neighbor!

My love and thoughts are with Jane Orth. To Michelle, Lizabeth and Danny... always remember her deep love for life and her family. That is her gift to us all.

Always in my thoughts and prayers.
Love, Sandra, Dereck and Alexia Cole

I had the pleasure to know and work with Janie. She was a beautiful person with a great personality. I cannot believe that 5 years have gone by so quickly. I know how very much she loved her girls and I hope that during the anniversary of your Mom's death that you have peace in your heart, and know that other people miss her as well. God bless.

Today my husband, daughter (age 7), and I visited a cemetary. We visited graves with flags, and placed a flower at each one. My daughter went looking for a grave of a woman to place her last flower. We came upon Jane Orth's grave. Through tears, I explained to my daughter that Ms Orth had been a victim on flight 11, and we spent some time thinking about her and left a Montana Bachelor Button we'd picked from our garden.  I never met Ms Orth, but tonight I'm thinking about her.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
