Jeff I think of you often and continue to pray for your family. You were my first project manager at Oracle in 1998 and in some ways it seems like only yesterday I was sitting next to you and having you tell us all about your rescue class and your desire to work at the local rescue squad. Who could forget the day we were giving a big presentation to our client and you showed up late, soaked to the bone because you stopped to help someone in the pouring rain who drove off the rode. I can still hear the swishing sound of you shoes. You will always be an example for me of what it means to care for people whether it be someone on their first project or someone in need medical care you were always their willing to help. Hope to see you on the other side.

Jeff, your sacrifice will never be forgotten by any of us who knew you. I cant say I knew you well but as a former volunteer in Prince William County in Dale City I knew who you were and your actions in NYC that fateful day are nothing more then Im sure many of us would have done in the same situation. While we had regular jobs we still gave ourselves to help others in need and at times risked our safety and lives to do so. When everybody talks about the 343 firefighters and EMTs killed in NYC I tell them no its 343+1 because you will always be that fateful extra 1 set of hands that was there and didnt even have to be asked to help you just did it because you know those people needed help and you were able to help them in their time of need. God Bless your family and the fellow members of Dumfries Rescue you left behind upon whos members should strive to be as selfless as you were. Im sure you up there looking down as a guardian angel still watching and waiting to help.

You were a great friend, Jeff. I remember you all too well from high school. We were great buds. When I saw you at the first high school reunion, you had grown to a handsome young man and were married to a beautiful woman. I remember how much we laughed and the ring dance we went to. I still have photos that my dad took of us. I know I was a little crazy in school, but you were one of my best friends, and you are surely missed. I wish I could have kept in touch with you and met your new family. Rest in peace, my friend, for you have entered the rest of our Great Creator. May love, peace, and prosperity surround the loved ones you left behind. May they be blessed and enriched through our Lord Jesus Christ.

I had met his brother, sister-in-law, and two nieces who lived behind my house in Ridgewood. I was lucky that day: I worked in the WTC and decided that watering my newly-planted evergreens was more important than going in early. Mr. Simpson's family I could never face again in such despair. Sadly, my life, home, marriage, and everything crumbled soon after. I am still living in a fog, and I turn 44 in 2 days! My thoughts and prayers go out to his widowed wife and his family. I hope all our prayers for the family have helped you go on. I ask for you to keep me in your thoughts and prayers, too, for I feel all alone and abandoned in this world. Peace be with you all.

What you believed in and stood for will always be in my heart. You were such an inspiration to me, both professional and personally. You were one of the greatest "Dads" I knew. I still remember when you got to work in Richmond, you always called back home to talk to kids. You were one of the kindest people I've ever met. Your courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
