I think about you often John. Your smile could light up a room. You were one of a kind and I miss you dearly my friend. I hope you are resting in peace.

It started out as one of the most beautiful days I have ever seen, I said to myself. As I was on my way to work. I survived that very day getting out of Tower 1 and at the time did not know know John was up at Windows for the Technology Conference, right above me in the same tower. But I survived and have to deal with that every day. John unfortunately did not make it out. When I found out, which was a few months later, I was devastated. I worked with John at Dominick for a number of years. He was always a pleasant, happy-go-lucky, positive guy, always with a smile on his face. He had so much positive energy that at times I wish some had rubbed off on me, lol. But this world lost a great guy. My thoughts and prayers are out for your wife and children and other family as well. Maybe closure can come into effect for us all. God bless America!

Even though it's been almost ten years since John has left us, I still remember what a great guy he was. I worked with him at D and D over 23 years ago, and I loved the way he and Johnny Mack would bust on each other. I still remember that laugh he had and his love for the Rangers. R.I.P., John "Casper" Cooper.

John,

We worked together at D and D. We didn't know what we had when we had it. It's the best place I've ever worked. We all had a good time and truly loved each other. We worked
with each other, not against. We formed many bonds of friendship there that last to this very day. God bless you, wherever you are, as well as your family.

All who knew you miss you. All of our lives were better because of you. God bless your family and you.

I worked with John on Wall Street. He was very helpful and came to work with a smile on his face.. He is deeply missed.

I attended McKinley junior high school, and Fort Hamilton High School with John and am blessed to have had him as a friend. Always with a smile, never with any unkind words - John could not help but to bring happiness into peoples lives that he touched. Many a spring day, we would forsake the bus ride home from school, in favor of an hours walk home - talking all the way about sports, as young boys would do. I always thought he would become a baseball star - but, you know, he was always a star, a star in life!! I am sorry not to have known John as an adult, because his qualities are rarely found!!  Bye Friend! May God bless his family, and May God bless John.

John was a rare and wonderful human...really he was so kind and patient.  He was the type of person you alway wish success for....never heard him really say a mean thing.  He will be very missed by me.....you can contact me at bodofsin@aol.com if anyone would like to talk about how the world really did lose a good one.....

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
