I knew Bruce when both of worked for Dick Taylor the best Shopping Center person I ever knew. Bruce was a great guy, a hard worker and very smart. His loss is a tragedy.
I think of him often. He was the only person that died on 911 that I personnaly knew. May he rest in Peace, may his family find peace. 9-13-2011

Although 10 years have gone by, I still find it difficult to believe you are gone. John and I were so fortunate to have had you as a friend. John so much enjoyed coaching basketball with you, and R.C. loved being on your teams. I wish your family had been able to have more time with you, but we were all better people because you were part of our lives. RIP Bruce.

I was reading the list of 911 victims when I came across the name of Mr. Eagleson. It took me by surprise because I very seldom in my lifetime have seen the last name Eagleson with the exact same spelling.  While I doubt that we are related I want to offer my best to the family of Mr. Eagleson and my prayers are with this family and all the families of 911. God Bless and Keep you always.....

I had the pleasure to be the Property Accountant for Westfield Shoppingtown Meriden were Bruce was the General Manager before accepting the promotion of the job at the Twin Towers in New York city. I learned a lot from him regarding retail commercial leasing my prior experiences had only been in office commercial leasing. What I will always remember was Bruce’s concern for safety and the drills that took place at the Meriden mall. He was very concerned for others so even though I was no longer working for Westfield on 9/11/01 I received the call that Bruce was one of the victims of that tragedy on America. I was very saddened with this news then I found solace because Bruce went back into to save others! My prayers over the years have gone out to Gail and the boys. In life we have the pleasure to meet individuals although it was a brief time Bruce was in my life I am better for it “Rest in Peace Bruce.”

I always remember Mr. Eagleson coming to his son's football practices in the early evenings, still dressed in his suit from work. He always had a smile and a "hello" for the other parents. My son Dan is friends with his son Brett. I think of the Eagleson family often, especially on the 9/11 anniversary.

On Sunday, 9/5/2010 I will participate in a 3k/5k Run to Remember in NYC. They allow you to pick the person you are running to honor and I have chosen Mr. Eagleson. I am from Middlefield and I wanted his family and friends to know that he is not forgotten.

I was just thinking about tomorrow and realized it was 9/11, which made me think of that horrible day. I remember Bruce when he coached soccer with my husband. I can still see him walking up and down the sidelines cheering his team on.

Dear Bruce,

We miss you dearly. We remember you, fondly, from Little League days. We know you were a true hero that day and are certainly glad we had the chance to know you. Our love and deepest sympathies to your family and friends.

Sincerely,

I moved to Connecticut in the early 70's. I worked in retail at that time, and Bruce worked for me until he was promoted. You always knew he had a certain knack for the trade. I left retail years ago but always figured that Bruce would remain and excel. Obviously he did. It has been many years, but my memories of him are fond ones. He had a great sense of humor and was the type of person who could accomplish anything he set his mind to. I was shocked when I heard of his death but not surprised that he gave his life saving those under his care. God bless him, and God bless his family.

Even after all this time it seems like yesterday this horrid tragedy happened. You are missed. Your family is trying to be strong for each other and they are trying to keep their lives on the track that you set as an example. Rest assured there are many looking out for them and I know that you are watching over them from your place in heaven.

I was one of the employees at the Westfield shopping center on 9/11 and Bruce saved my life.  I will never forget that and will always remember him.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
