I never knew John Puckett personally, but this past sunday was the ten year anniversary of 9/11. My school encourage each student to take a persons name from the memorial in each dorm building and to pray for the family of him/her. I chose John Puckett, and I wanted to see if I could find anything about him through google so that I could pray for his family a little more specifically. This is what I found. My heart goes out to his family. There are still people thinking of you and praying for you. With Love in Christ,

John,
It has been ten years since that tragic day, you left 2 broken children behind, they loved you very much. I know that you would be very proud of them now, Michael is a great young man and ready to marry a wonderful girl. Shelly is absolutely the best, she is beautiful and kind and very generous and she also was very luck to marry a man who is just absolutely great to her and the family. I know they miss you very much and they are carrying their life in the manner that they know you would be proud.
John thanks for the great grandchildren

As the tenth anniversary approaches I find myself thinking very much about John. He was a very talented, caring, and fun friend. I knew him well in the late 1970s, and was very happy to see him again several years before he died. I was proud to show him my daughter and hear about his wonderful children. I am so sad for their loss.

I was thinking about you today ... a sadness came over me. I have many pictures of you in my mind, which I revisit frequently. Miss you, John.

I knew John back in the day most memorably playing softball on the old KENO radio team and a great trip to the LA forum to see the Moody Blues. May god bless all of his family and friends.

I worked with John at windows as a camera op, had a lot of fun working with him. He always was a happy guy and made the job more enjoyable, It's funny that I was going through some business cards today and his card was right on top! Never forget his recording studio on wheels, he loved it and I thought it was totally cool. My prayers and thoughts of good times always. I will never forget...

It was strange to learn, when searching for something else this evening, that someone with the same name as me, maybe some distant relative, died in that awful event. May God continue to help and comfort you all.

John,
Your little girl is getting married June 19. Her boyfriend is a great guy and someone I know you would approve of. John, I know you will be there for your little butterfly on that day. Keep her safe.

I was on one of the FBI identification teams. John was the first person we identified. It was a sense of joy we identified someone (very few were) but it hit us afterward when we put a name to someone in the towers. I just hope our efforts are at least a small comfort to the Puckett family. My prayers are with you all.

John was a member of the 'Diamond Fortress' band in 1969 when I met him and his buddies, Glenn, Harald, and John R. I remember John standing tall and lettin' it rip at 'Helldorado.' Then they threw us all in the hoosegow because our hair was too long! We were 15, going on 21, and John made Vegas a better place!

I did not know you personally, but I know Michelle, your little belle, and I know she is a good and decent person and was raised very well by both parents. She has a heart the size of mother Earth. I pray for those you left behind; they were so young. But God has his reasons why any of this happens, and I am sure he knows, and when it is time for us to know, it will all fit into place, however horrible it may seem now. Love you, Belle!

I was one of John's fifth grade teachers at Ruby Thomas Elementary School in Las Vegas, Nevada during the 1964/65 school year. John was nice young man, good natured and well liked by his teachers and fellow students.

My wife was a Puckett. She died in 1998. There are over one hundred descendants of her father here in Rockingham County, NC. On behalf of them, I send regrets on the loss of your family member, John Puckett, in the World Trade Center attack, and my salute to him.

John was my younger brother by 7 years. I raised him from the age of 15 to 20. He was a very kind person and loved his family very much. I am thankful in a way that both of his parents were dead when he died. No parent should have to bury their child. He loved his music, and we spent many loving and fun times together. I miss him every day.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
