I remember playing street hockey with John and his brother Paul at their house. Most of the time we would play until the sun went down or someone broke a window. God bless the Iskyans.

We will keep you in our hearts and may God bless your family and friends.

I also went to elementary school with John Iskyan.  We were in the same class and I have several elementary school class pictures of us as little kids. We were in the same class because of the last letters of our names- H and I.  When his brother Peter passed away so young, it didn't change John.  John was a decent, kind person and the world lost a very special person. God bless his family and friends.

I remember John well.  We went to elementary and high school together.  I remember him being the nicest guy. My deepest sympathy and prayers are with Johns family.  May God Bless you all.

I am John's Aunt and I think about him a lot. I remember him as a cute baby inquisitive, happy and fun loving. As a boy and young adult he was a very good athlete especially enjoyed La crosse and skiing. As a young man John loved life and lived it fully. He was a devoted husband and father, a successful businessman. John was handsome, had a very nice manner, a good sense of humor and  personality and was loved by all his family and friends. he was a wonderful nephew and I miss him. Living in Florida I didn't see him often in his later years and I regret that. Carolynn,Pete and Margaret you are always in my thoughts and prayers. You all can have comfort knowing that John is with you always and he must be very proud of you. Your wonderful memories will last forever.

I knew John and his family when we all lived in Manhasset.  I remember running into him on Metro North in 1999 and the two of us thinking how far we had come from those days, now with our own families and living in new towns - Wilton and Westport.  We saw each other on the train from time to time and always promised to get together for a barbeque or something.  We never had that chance.  Every so often I think of him and I scold myself for not taking the time to call him and say come on over with your family to our house.  I never met his wife and children, but Carolynn's note on this page compelled me to write this today.  He was a great guy, your dad.  And I have no doubt that he was the best dad in history.  I am very sorry for your loss. Keep him in your heart.  There he will live forever.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
