I'm glad this site is here. Let's hope others visit on this "day of days". I never met John. I knew Joe from my days at Delta Kappi Phi Umass Lowell. You'll always be here John!

My son was in Caroline's class at BG, and the impact of this tragedy touched him greatly. As his mother, his pain for his classmate hurt me, as well. We will never forget the tragedy of 9/11 or the loss to our community. God bless the Ogonowski family.

My mom is a flight attendant, and she said she saw you a few times on the bus. I don't know what I would do without my mom or dad. You were incredibly brave to even become a pilot. God just really liked you, I guess.

I never actually knew the Ogonowski family. My uncle worked at Logan and had communicated with him a couple of times before. I live in Dracut, and as soon as I found out what happened I started to cry.. I cried because I couldn't even imagine what it would be like losing my father or someone so close to me. Writing this, and reading all of the other comments 6 years later, still has me teary eyed. I drive past his corner a lot over the course of time, and every single time I pass it, I bow my head and pray, not only for him, but for his family. I just want to tell him that even though I didn't know you, you are still thought of and still remembered. You are a hero, and God bless you for that. I also want to tell his family they are the strongest people I have ever heard about. Losing someone that important to you must be tough, but you have survived and come through strong. My thoughts and prayers will always extend to you and John. God bless.

John, you and the rest of the crews and passengers in all four flights and those in the Pentagon will always be remembered by us and held sacred to us. May God bless and give the families strength with their loss throughout their lives, but especially every 9/11.
From a former Dracut resident and now Methuen. Bless you all.

Such a tragic loss to his family and society. A real hero in our time. My heart goes out to his family. Maybe a scholarship in his name might be fitting for future pilots.

Something to remember. Each time I drive by the street corner dedicated to John, I think of him and his family. I hope that the memorial placed there and the reason for its placement will never be forgotten.

I never knew him, but my friend Mike Davidowitcz was his cousin and he tells me how great of a guy John was and how he loves his family so much. I am very sorry for the Ogonowski family. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all of the other victims of September 11th
GOD BLESS!

I wear a mercy bracelet for John every day of my life. I read his bio and felt a very strong attachment to him. I worked for an airline, he had 3 girls and the middle one is named Laura. I am one of 3 girls and my middle name is Laura so we really had a bond. I pray for his wife and family every day of my life and hope they have been able to move on. Sincerely, Nancy Laura Smith

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
what kind of person he/she was,
what nice points you remember about him/her,
what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
what you two perhaps did together,
what he/she meant to you,
or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.

This web site is affiliated with 24K Gold Music Shows - an oldies music showband performing in Central Florida. The members of the showband feel strongly that there were many heroes manifested during the onslaught of terror associated with 9-11, and present this site as a memorial to those whose lives were lost, and the loved ones they left behind.
24K Gold Music Shows perform primarily 50-60s Oldies, Elvis songs, DooWop, and older country music, as well as patriotic songs. All of the musicians, singers, dancers, and staff of the 24K Gold Music Shows extend their deepest sympathies to every one who lost loved ones on that terrible day.
24K Gold Music Shows performs an original song called "The Day America Cried", which is a 9-11 tribute song. In the live shows, they honor with the song not only the heroes of 9-11 but also those who are still alive: the police personnel, firefighters, emergency personnel, soldiers, and others who have served our country and kept us all safe.
Listen also to this beautiful, touching song "Love Can Build a Bridge" by 24K Gold Music Shows. Even though strictly speaking it's not a 9-11 memorial song, I still feel it is a very fitting song for the occasion!
