Honor your culture and heritage. Always remember where it is you come from. But NEVER FORGET YOU ARE AN AMERICAN FIRST! You were and always will be, the finest example of what a FBI agent should be. Process and protocol are useless when they impede getting the job done and protecting the people. I miss you everyday. I will never forget you. I promise you John we will not give up.

I am an artist, and have spend several years painting the changes in our lives since 9/11. Recently I painted a series of works on the soul of American identity, and am shamed that Mr O'Neil has only just become the clear, central figure in what makes America worth preserving. I intend to paint him, as he deserves that. What an amazing spirit. Just when you think there are not any good people, you discover someone like John O'Neil. What a loss.

Like many Americans, I spent the weekend watching various videos of the 9/11 anniversary. On this anniversary I think about all who lost their lives, and I think about John O'Neill. May god bless

I and my children knew John, he was my next door neighbor and his son played with my children. I moved away but never forgot John and his family. He was new to the FBI but when he got home he was just John, husband and father. I am honored to say I knew him.

On this and every 9/11 since 2001, I sit alone and cry for the mission you tried so earnestly to carry out. You, like all humans, had your frailties when it came to "personal" issues. However, you were always the best the F.B.I. could have ever hoped for in your professional life. They were too blind to see.......
I miss your friendship and wish only the best for Valerie and her family as well as Christine and the kids.
"Celebrate Good Times C'mon" was and always will be the song I remember you by. Peace to all and may God send us another like you to help stop the madness.

I didn't know him personally, but I still miss John O'Neill. Now that Yemen is back in the news, I think of John and his agents and their tireless effort to garner information on Osama Bin Laden, the Cole incident, etc. and thank them. To "the man that knew," I salute you. To his family, my heart still sorrows for your loss.
