I remember John from Lakewood High School. He was always so friendly and full of energy. We cry for all 9/11 victims, but now they all are in a better place. They will all be missed. My prayers and blessings go out to all the families of the victims of 9/11. God Bless America!

John, I write this message knowing the smile it would have put on your face every time we hung out. Although we didn't see each other much after Rutgers, when we did, we had great times. I hope you are saving me a spot up in heaven. Every day I pass your name on that wall at WTC I remember what an exceptional person you were. Keep those Abs strong, we all miss you very much down here.

I grew up in the same neighborhood as the Cruz family in Lakewood,NJ. I remember Robert was a very handsome boy. He was always nice to everyone. His mother used to babysit my sister Maria Paz and me sometimes after school. I was so sorry to learn he was a 9/11 victim. My prayers go out to the Cruz family, may God bless you all. With love, Loreto Calderon

Miss you, John, I hope you are at peace, I cannot even begin to describe how much I still miss you even almost 5 years later.  I think about you all the time.

Love,
the little sister you never had,
Dina

John and I were good friends when he attended Penn State his freshman year in 1986. We both lived in North Halls. John was always upbeat, funny and full of life! I'll always remember the good times...Penn State football games, surfin' the hallways, weekend parties, and pulling an all-nighter for our Philosophy test. He was a true friend who often spoke very fondly of his parents and his brother Phil. My condolences to his family.

I only met John briefly once, through his brother(Philip Cruz). I know Philip has encouraged his brother and did expose him to the Lord Jesus Christ. I am only encourage that one day I will meet John again up in heaven. The loss is great for his family but with hope of reuniting again. This hope only exist in Jesus Christ -- this hope is available to ALL of us.

I have lost contact with Philip shortly after 911. I hope to find Philip and his family again.

Your Family In Christ,
The Acevedo's

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
