You were way too young to be taken. My thoughts and prayers are always with your family.

I feel as though today I am reliving the day of September 11th I cannot help but feel for all the families that were destroyed that day. Although I am not someone in your life, I do remember Mr. Salerno and his wife as customers in Westfield and my heart goes out to you today and always. May you somehow find peace and happiness. I will never forget.

It was so long ago, but I'm always remembering you, Pepe, and your awesome magnificence, 'cause you touched my life so deeply. There are still tears for the world and your loved ones loosing you. I know you're in heaven.

Pep... not a day goes by when I don't think of you and how much better this world would be if you were still in it... You are always in our hearts and on our minds... we will never forget you!
Dino

I knew Pepe and his father John from the Cow Town Pub. I just found this out on the Internet today. Is John Sr still alive? And if so, do you have any contact info?

Thank you,

On September 11, 2002, I wore the name of John Salvatore Salerno in memory of him as I sang in the Mozart Requiem here in Missoula, MT. His name is on my bulletin board for all time. On this solemn and painful anniversary I again send my condolences to his family. I continue to pray for you all.

Do you have any idea how I could get John (Pepe's) mom's, (Joann) mailing address, or if you can direct me:
earth-hair@zdial.com
I have a letter to send to John (Pepe's) mom and family. My name is Terry Niedzialek, I was 13 years old when John (Pepe)was born; I lived down the street from him in Albertson, NY. I helped take care of him and his sister Dina and were friends till we all moved 10 years later. Pepe was a tremendious gift in my life. I adored him, he was a precious friend, so full of life and love. When he was first born he was "John", but my God was he this wonderful, wild boy and because of his wild , active nature he was then given the name "Pepe". We had so much FUN times! The way John (Pepe) stands in this picture on this page is the same way he stood when he was 4 years old. John (Pepe)remains forever crystal clear in my mind and close in my heart and prayers with love, Terry Niedzialek

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
