I am thinking of you today. As I do many days during the years. I never got to meet you, but I sure would have loved to. My heart goes out to your family and loved ones.

Be proud of your loved one, having the courage to look fear in the eye.. taking control of his destiny.. that is the true meaning of life.

God bless your soul.

The image captured of you that fateful day is breath taking. Through all the chaos, hatred, and hurt displayed, your image relayed peace. In my eyes, you were not the fallen man, but the "Risen Angel." The serenity in your body language signifies you were doing what God had planned for you. You did not allow hatred to define nor deplete you, the solitude in you at the moment symbolizes acceptance and that only comes from faith in God. On this 10th anniversary of 9/11, I send my deepest condolences and prayers to your father (in that he will find strength in knowing you touched so many lives and he finds comfort to gain a better understanding of why this happened),your mother, your wife, your sister, your brother and everyone else affected by this tragedy. Enjoy your halo and wings! May you rest in paradise...Much <3!

I will never forget Jonothan Briley. God surround and keep his family and loved ones. He was in the hands of God that awful day and he was beside him in his kingdom from the very final moment of his life on this earth. I mean no disrespect, but in some ways the picture is beautiful. We see a glimpse of that time between life and death that is not often seen. Peace, dignity, bravery, and faith that God will take us to a better place than we could ever imagine. Rest in peace Jonothan.

The lord wanted a graceful glide in the heavens. The lord wanted to give wings to an angel and started the early flight to heaven to Jonathan Eric Briley.

I remember you
You were in my dream
We fell from the sky together
You gave humanity tether
From that horrible event
Your death in life was well spent
I remember you

When we each fly away from this world so sweet
Into mystery we ascend
The scent of roses, or rain on my feet
Yes, into thee shall I blend
How fine to share a laugh and love
And see your face so smiley
Let’s love those who we have at hand
And let’s remember Jonathan Briley
We all know someone like this man
Who beams from eyes so fresh and bright
Their person helps us say “I can”
Until we mesh into the light
Next time some anger fills your core
Grab creation by its tendril sliver
We’ll laugh and sing and cry no more
We’ll stock smiles in our quiver
So next time you’re by a creek that flows
Gain strength and become a beacon
It’s happiness with cats like this
It’s peace that we’re all seekin’

My heart is so moved — words just are not enough to convey the tender emotion I feel for Jonathon's family and for Jonathon. May God's blessings be upon his Godly family. And I offer my most humble gratitude for Jonathon's spirit of courage that has touched my soul so deeply.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
