My mom told me about how great of a guy Jose B. Gomez and Enrique were. She told me the stories about them today. I never really knew them, I was only 4. But its so sad to think about it. My prayers go out to them. Well atleast there in a better place in heaven with god. <3

My uncle Bienvenido was a beautiful person, a person who worked very hard to support his family, just like my uncle Enrique. My uncle Bienvenido was an outgoing person, too. He loved to dance and be with his family all the time. The last time I saw my uncle Bienvenido was the summer of 2000. He was outside waiting for my dad. He had beautiful eyes, clear as the ocean. In those eyes, the only thing I saw was happiness and joy. He smiled with happiness and gave me a hug. I will always remember my uncle's smile. We miss you a lot, uncle. I will always remember my uncle Bienvenido Gomez....

I did not know Jose but it is my deep and sincere privilege to be able to honor him on my blog as part of the 2996 Project. I am trying to find out as much about this man as I can in order to pay tribute to him and to honor his sacrifice.

Jose's tribute will remain on my blog permanently just as his memory will remain in the hearts of those who loved him.

Feel free to stop by and read all I have learned about this man. It will be posted NLT 11 Sept 2006. www.homeschoolblogger.com/MamaBugs

Jose B. Gomez was 45 years old and worked in the restaurant Windows on The World. His brother Enrique Gomez also died on that day. Jose was my father and all i can say is that he was the best father ever. He loved me and my sisters very much and he loved to see us happy. He loved to dance his music which was merengue and bachata. My father was always happy and had the best smile ever. I miss him so much. I love Him!!!

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
