Joe, we may never have been extremely close but through mutual friends, we shared a lot of growing up to together. I have 2 pictures of you that I love – the first is from you at your high school prom looking handsome in a tuxedo and the second is of you wearing a sombrero and poncho (I think you may be in Mexico). I want you to know that I think about what a great guy you were often and my thoughts go out to your family. You are surely missed!

Joey. This is for you to hear from heaven. The two memories i have of you, that i will never forget are when i was about 4 or 5, regular nintendo had been extremly popular, i was at your house with my mom and me and you were playing some skiing game, i sucked in it, but you keep trying to teach me to play.. you also eventualy let me keep that game to...another, is when your grandfather, my great grandfather Peter suffered a heart attack, we went to visit him in the hospital.. this was obviously wasnt the greatest time to get together.. but i remeber we were playing tag, outside, in the front, with my brother also...Joey, i have taken your football number 89, and wore it with great honor at all of my football games, and i still wear it to this day... Joey, although we werent as close as cousins should be, you still hold a very, very special place in my heart. i love you.
Love your cousin,
Michael

It has been 4 years and 4 months since 9/11 and I think about Joey almost every day!! Sometimes I will be walking down the street and I think that I see him.. It makes me so sad.. Joey was a great friend.. he was a great listener and we shared the same love for the Yankees!! I miss him and pray for him every night and also for his sister Lisa who I was especially close with whom I have lost touch. I hope that her and her family have been able to find some peace in all of the sadness that has befallen them. I was as close as family to them, and it hurt me so much to see the pain that his family went through. Joey you will never be forgotten!!!

I went to high school with Joe. He was on my bus. I always remembered his sense of humor, smile and friendly way. I was deeply saddened to hear that he died on 9/11 and think of him often.  Even though we were never close friends, being his aquaintence left an impact on me, so I can only imagine how his close friends and family feel.  I think of him today on this 4th anniversary of the worst day in this country's history and my thoughts are with his family.

Joe, We have never met, but actually we sort of did. Your Aunt Marsha helped make our wedding day beautiful and she always talked about you. I was downtown at the WTC on 911 trying to help but never found anyone...but your spirit. My thoughts will always be with you brother.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
