I can't believe that in 8 days it will be 8 years since you were taken from us. Epictetus says: "Don't demand or expect that events happen as you would wish them to. Accept events as they actually happen. That way peace is possible." The peace that I have is knowing that someday I will get to see you again. I love you.

Seven years ago I read Joseph's name in San Diego in honor of those lost in 911. I haven't forgotten. I think of him often and I pray still for his family. God bless you all.

I did not know Joseph Anthony Ianelli but I work at Virginia Tech University and today on the 5th anniversary of 911 the students set 2 tables up on campus with scrolls to sign, with names of victims. I was given Joseph's name to sign. The little sliver of paper I received has a small picture, name, age and where he worked.
When I returned to my office I looked him up on the internet and read all I could about him. What a wonderful man and it was an honor to recognize him today.
Peace be with you,
Cheryl Thompson

Joe, after 5 years the pain still burns. It seems like yesterday we were exhanging e-mails on that fateful morning. We all still think about you constantly. Your Memorial Fund goes on strong, and your friends and family gather in your memory on your birthday and every 9-11.

I miss you brother more than anything. I'm due on Dec.3rd and it's just not going to be the same with you not here. You would be so happy I'm having another boy, I could hear you now saying "YES!" I miss talking to you and you hugging me and making me feel safe. It just seems to be getting harder and harder. I hope you are with me on the 3rd and see your other nephew, its not fair that you will never hold him or get to know him. Corey asks where you are now and it is almost impossible for me to explain to him that you're not here without crying in his face. I miss you and love you so much brother

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
