Gone but not forgotten. Almost ten years after the tragedy, your story is still being told:

My heart goes out to you for your loss. Somehow, while searching the Collison name, I landed on this website. We are, the Collisons, a strong people ... people filled with compassion and those of great minds. A Collison lost is a loss to all Collisons. I am deeply moved by this website.... It has connected me with you and everyone that has commented in a way that I cannot ever begin to explain. I will ask one thing of all of you ... and that is to unite. Let the Collisons become one.... Let the world finally understand who we are.... My prayers for you all....

Joseph,
I am a Collison as well, living in Colorado. My distant relative, John Collison, came to the new world from Ireland to fight in the revolutionary war, and settled in Canada. It would appear that we are distantly related. I mourn all the people who died that day, but I now have, in a strange way, a more personal connection to this tragedy. God bless you, and God bless your family. I would have liked to have visited with you to learn about your family. I know that someday we will meet in heaven, and we will be able to share our stories.

It would be easier to try to put September 11 out of our minds, but as responsible Americans, we can never forget those innocent victims or why they died.

I did not know you, Joseph, but my last name is also Collison. Looking over the memorials, I came across a familiar name, yours. That's also my uncle's name from Delaware. It hurts me to know that some great and innocent people had to die for nothing more than hate. It makes me so sad to see all those names, but yours really struck a nerve because I know somewhere down the line we are probably related. My heart and prayers go out to your family, and in the end we're all brothers and sisters. God bless everyone on this list, and my peace be with you all.
With love in my heart, I wish your family well,
Robert Michael Collison

To my uncle whom I love and always will love. Sorry it took me so long to write, but I just couldn't deal with the fact that you're gone. You were like a hero to me and cared for me like no other person, but now I see that you're in a better place, and you are looking at me from heaven. I miss you so much!

My dearest brother inlaw Joe, you are forever in my heart and soul. There is never a day goes by without me thinking of you. A memorial is set up in our home in remembrance of you. It is still hard to believe you are never coming back, but some day we will meet again. I am so glad to read all the memorials sent in your memory of the dearest people in your life. I wish I could be in contact with these people who were close to you. I admire you for everything you were. My thoughts, prayers and love always remain with you. Your sis Jan. xo

I know he needed you.You were and still are my inspiration and my motivation. you supported me spiritually, emotionally and financially when I needed you the most. I know you watching over me. Stardasia, your niece, she called you uncle Joe, she misses you so much. she didn't know the reality of the whole thing because she didn't see you at the memorial. Joe, my dearest brother inlaw. You said, I would always be your sis and I said, you would always be my brother. I will never forget your words or voice. You remain close in my heart and thoughts every day. I miss you so much and one day we shall meet again. I look up to you for courage and strength to carry on. You had the kindest heart and never put anyone down. You were there when anyone needed you. My life is so empty without you. I wish you could have met my husband Paul. But life goes on, and Paul and I think of you every day. You will always remain close in our hearts and thoughts. God Bless you. Love your sis "jan" and Paul xoxo

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
