At Red Rocks Park in Morrison, Colorado, there was a 9-11 stair climb. I was honored to represent you at this event. I had your name and picture with me as I climbed, and we both  finished in good time. Thank you for helping me make it thru, Mr. Joseph Rivelli. May God bless.

I visited ground zero sometime after September 11th, and I visited the church across the street. There was this huge banner with all these flowers and holy cards, and I found Joe's on the ground. It had fallen off. It broke my heart. I never knew him — I am from California — but I have kept that card, and I pray for him and his family often. He is not forgotten, and his sacrifice was not in vain.

FF Rivelli, we will never have the chance to meet. I am a Firefighter in Colorado and we remember 9-11 by doing a stairclimb of 110 stories. Each of us gets to climb for one of the 343. I climbed for you this year. I climb in full bunkers, SCBA, and highrise pack. I do this for the first 55 stories, then I go on air for another 55 flights. I hope you were able to look down and know that you have been remembered, by a friend that you didn't know you had.

We never knew each other, but tomorrow I climb 110 stories in your honor at the Colorado 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. Your picture will be on my chest the entire way. I will not let you down.

To my loving brother,

You have a part of me always. Not a day goes by you are not in my thoughts. I love you, my dear brother. May god be with you, and with us left behind. Our hearts ache. Dad's never been the same. We lost a big part of life when we lost you. You will never be forgotten, for we talk of you every day. Stephen, your nephew, is now a volunteer fire fighter, passed the city fire test. You are his hero and inspiration. We love you, Joe....

Seems like yesterday you were sitting in my office talking about flying and golfing. I remember the days and nights hanging out together, the Bacardis and cokes, and talking about everything. I remember the devotion to your family and the love you spoke of for them. Most of all I remember a good friend who I dearly miss. You are always in my prayers.

Dear Joseph,

I live in Italy and do not speak English, but God understands my prayers. Riposa in pace amico.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
