It's been nine years that you've been gone. I will never forget all the amazing times you, Rob, Matt, and I had. I was the only Italian in a group of Jewish boys, but you and your family always made me feel part of it. We met in first grade, and I knew from the start that you and I were trouble. Through the years we laughed and cried and always had a great time. Endless trips to AC and so many dead shows, these will be memories that will be with me for life. I have traveled a lot through the years, and no matter how far I travel, or what's going on in my life, there is never a day that I don't think about you, about being kids and always being a tight crew. I will always miss you. Love ya, bro!

Joshua: I think about you today, and know how much you meant to your Aunt Barbara. She was my French teacher, and I know from her actions and her grief that she loved you very much. After reading what people who had the privilege of knowing you have said, I must say you sound like an outstanding man who is dearly missed. God bless you.

Thinking about you today. I met you when you were a cocky and lovable 16 year old back in 1994 working at Luigi's bussing tables and up to no good- in a good way :-)
You would have gotten such a kick out of the fact that we are now related through the marriage of Adam and Rachel- You, me and Kathy would have been in-laws. What a trip that would have been.
I always remember you with a smile Josh. You were a great kid- Your first niece will be born in January 2008- I'll give her a kiss for you bro!
God Bless you and all who were lost on that horrible day.

I never knew Joshua but felt compelled to visit his page after reading about him in the paper. We are from the same area and are roughly the same age. Please accept my condolences on the 5th anniversary of 09/11

Today marks 5 years since they took such a great person much too young! We had a lotta fun times in a short period of time! Much love and thanx for being a good friend when I had few friends! R.I.P. and this one's for you:
"Unbroken Chain" by the Grateful Dead
"Blue light rain, whoa unbroken chain,
Looking for familiar faces in an empty window pane.
Listening for the secret, searching for the sound
But I could only hear the preacher and the baying of his hounds.
Willow sky, whoa, I walk and wonder why,
They say love your brother, but you will catch it when you try.
Roll you down the line boy, drop you for a loss,
Ride you out on a cold railroad and nail you to a cross.
November and more, as I wait for the score,
They're telling me forgiveness is the key to every door.
A slow winder day a night like forever,
Sink like a stone, float like a feather.
(instrumental)
Lilac rain, unbroken chain, Song of the sawhet owl.
Out on the mountain, it'll drive you insane, Listening to the winds howl
Unbroken chain of sorrow and pearls, Unbroken chain of sky and sea.
Unbroken chain of the western wind, Unbroken chain of you and me."

5 years has passed... 5 years without Josh's smile, laughter. I think about him every day, and I can't wait to see him again. I hope he is getting to watch Little House on the Prairie in heaven.

Next week it will be five years since we lost Josh. Not a moment goes by that I do not think of his smile, his voice, his zest for life. I love and miss Josh and pray for the day that I see his smile again.

JOSH REISS, my best friend, my secret keeper, you forgave all my flaws and loved me always. I was and am so lucky to have had you in my world, even if for a short time. I think of you daily and hold you in my heart. We were just kids, dear friends for life, I miss you. I will take you to all the beatiful places I go, and will dream of you laughing with me. Thank you for being my best freind... I will love you forever.

Joshua Reiss was the most honest, intelligent, and loving person I have ever known. He would give you the shirt of your back if you needed it. He was the older brother I never had but always wanted.
His death has left a void in my heart that can never be replaced. He is truly missed and loved. He is not only a hero for giving his life for this country, he is a hero for how he lived his life. May you be at peace and awating me with open arms, as I know I will see you again. I miss and love you

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
what kind of person he/she was,
what nice points you remember about him/her,
what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
what you two perhaps did together,
what he/she meant to you,
or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.

This web site is affiliated with 24K Gold Music Shows - an oldies music showband performing in Central Florida. The members of the showband feel strongly that there were many heroes manifested during the onslaught of terror associated with 9-11, and present this site as a memorial to those whose lives were lost, and the loved ones they left behind.
24K Gold Music Shows perform primarily 50-60s Oldies, Elvis songs, DooWop, and older country music, as well as patriotic songs. All of the musicians, singers, dancers, and staff of the 24K Gold Music Shows extend their deepest sympathies to every one who lost loved ones on that terrible day.
24K Gold Music Shows performs an original song called "The Day America Cried", which is a 9-11 tribute song. In the live shows, they honor with the song not only the heroes of 9-11 but also those who are still alive: the police personnel, firefighters, emergency personnel, soldiers, and others who have served our country and kept us all safe.
The video below is a song you might like by 24K Gold Music shows, called Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.
