Julie,
I walked out of the WTC path station today and the thoughts of our conversations together updating each other on our families were as vivid as ten years ago. You were a special person, wife and mother who will never be forgotten.

I could not help but to think of my best friend from elementary school and into junior high when she moved away. Not many days go by when I do not think of Julie, whether it be memories of walking to school, playing with plastigoop and making creepy crawlers, or trying to be quiet while her dad worked on his thesis. I hope and pray that on this momentous day in history that her family can take a step forward in their healing. May the name of Julie Lynne Zipper be for a blessing now and forever. I miss you!

In loving memory of my friend Julie on this sad day. Every now and then I look at her photographs, and remember the years we spent together growing up. I remember our teenage years, and all the fun we had every summer. The friends we made along the way, our fun times with her aunt, uncle, and cousins, our separate, but equally important career paths. Our trips to Montauk Point by motorcycle, Ice Cave Mountains, concerts, shopping, our days at the beach, and hours of talking and sharing. She loved music, Marshall Tucker, Gerry Garcia, Chicago, The Who, Harry Chapin were her favorites back then. It warmed my heart to know that she and her family had a summer home near the shore, both of her dreams come true. May God bless her family, and watch over them forever, and may they find comfort in their memories.

Julie was my second cousin (her mom and my mom are first cousins). I wish I had known Julie better. I was saddened by her loss, and my heart goes out to her parents, her husband, and her children. Although I didn't know her as well as I would have liked, she is in my thoughts often.

Thinking of you, Julie, today. Julie and I were colleagues at Femcon in the late 80s and early 90s.

Julie was always seated in front of me in junior high. (Her maiden name was "Zipper" and mine was "Zisk," and the seating was alphabetical.) I remember we always used to talk and laugh, and she sometimes used to call me "Zisk," and I would call her "Zipper." I was so sad when I heard she was gone. I was thinking of her this evening because there was a special about 9/11 on television tonight. But, truth be told, I think about Julie every once-in-a-while, anyway. Her name and face just pop into my head. I hope her family has been able to live through their pain. My heart goes out to the family for their loss.

Julie was my mother, and she will never be forgotten. I love her more than words could even express, and she is my role model. She was an amazing woman who accomplished many things. She will always be in my heart. She was the most caring, loving mother. She will be missed immensely.

I met Julie in fourth grade, when we were in the same class, and was friends with her into junior high, until she moved away. What I remember best is her laugh--the way her shoulders shook when she laughed. She laughed a lot, was bright, pretty, friendly, and saw the humor in daily situations. I was so sorry to see her obituary in the New York Times during the weeks following 9/11. My deepest sympathy to her family for your loss.

My cousin Janine was one of Julie's best friends and although I never had the pleasure of meeting her - I felt as though I knew her. Janine would talk about Julie all the time and her children. My daughter knew them as there were several occasions when Janine was babysitting and she had taken all of them to see Disney on Ice. I just want to say how deeply saddened I am by this tragedy and to this day it still haunts me. My deepest sympathy goes out to Julie's family and friends. God Bless all of you and may she rest in peace.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
