Today, went to Mass - Holy Name Of Mary, San Dimas, Calif
to pray and honor those who lost their lives on 9/11.
At the end of Mass, there were baskets with names on red heart shaped paper with a clip for us to wear on this special day.Picked your name randomly - now you are not just a name to me. Peace!

I was randomly watching videos on youtube when I came across your husband being interviewed about when you called him from the plane while it was being hi-jacked. It broke my heart. May you REST IN PARADISE Karen and R.I.P. to all the lives lost on that horrible day, except the terrorists. May the 5 of them rot in hell.

I was telling my daughter about you last night Karen as we watched a TV program regarding the events of 9/11. I was smiling inside as I recalled your wicked intensity, funny nature, and love of life. Whenever people talk about 9/11, I always make a point of telling them of your valient fight to protect the passengers and crew on that fateful day. Your memory lives on.

Our lives changed on so many ways on September 11, 2011. The hardest part was losing your gentle, loving, lively spirit on that day. You will live on in the hearts of your family and friends forever. We will never forget 9/11

I am sure there soon will be an abundance of flowers to accompany the joy for your new heavenly home. Its not the size or number that counts, but the thought and love that each one thinks everytime they think of you, as I do of you. You are just as much if not more in the many hearts now, as you were on that first day you departed. All my Best to you. Jeff

For Karen:

I am sorry about all that has happened. I learned a lot about the events on Flight 11 besides the other three flights involved because Flight 11, I feel, deserves special attention among all the events in the worst tragedy of American history. Flight 11 was the first to be taken and first to hit the WTC. I feel Karen deserves utmost special care and sympathy because of learning that she and another fellow female flight attendant on Flight 11 took a direct assault by being stabbed by the hijackers.

I didn't know you except from what I heard in the news. But after hearing about the traumatic sudden events, I ask, why did this have to happen to a lovely lady I am seeing in the photo among the list of other victims on Flight 11? And who would want to harm you? You seemed like such an angel and a nice person to have around. At least with high hopes, and faith, you should be now resting in peace and comfort, and wash away the pain. You are always in my prayers, Karen.

Always remember; never forget! I think of you and your family.

I don't remember Karen very well from High School. She was a few years behind me. What I do remember is my heart dropping for all the victims and even more so from hearing that she was on that flight. She will always be remembered as a hero for standing her ground against impossible and improbable odds. 9 years later doesn't make any better, but she is in a wonderful place with other wonderful spirits watching over her. I lost my father in 2000 and I know that he is there with her now telling jokes about himself, laughing and carrying on. Forever 40 Karen.

I would like to pay tribute to Karen at a memorial for 9/11 victims. She was a dear friend of mine. I skied with Karen for many years with TGIF. I would like to reach her family because we were close friends, and now I am in the USCG and would like to honor her in a memorial service on 9/11 in Vero Beach, Florida. I would love to hear from you. My number is 617-285-0055. I will never forget Karen; she will always live in my heart.

Goodbye for now, Karen.

Also, for Sue Powers: I don't know where you are. You have not called me in a long time. I hope things are OK with you. Your big sister was a hero to the whole country. I miss you, also.

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
