I was just spending a quiet evening at home, messing around on the computer, googling myself, when I found this—of course, it's a popular enough name—I never thought of it before, but out of the thousands who died that day, what are the odds in a city so heavily populated by the Irish that there wouldn't be at least one Kathleen Moran among the dead?

To Kathleen, rest in peace. To her family, I'm so sorry for your loss.

I feel so sorry for this woman. My mom's name is Kathleen Moran, too.

Just after 9-11 I, too, saw my name on the roster of those who perished. I received many frantic calls, including my daughter. I will never forget 9-11, nor this lady and my namesake, and I wish her family well. Who knew there were so many of us with her name?

Kathleen (Kit) Moran

I feel very horrible right now to think what happened to a lady who seems like a very nice person. I give all my hope and love to her and her family. I know how hard it is to get over a special person who is now gone, but think how she is looking down on you and watching over you and know how special she is and how she is hoping for you to live a happy life and how that she is in a very good place now.

I am very sorry for what had happened to her. Even though I don't know her, it is still a very sad thing to happen to someone. I know she was probably a very good person, and I give all my hope and love to her family. I know she is probably in heaven now watching over her family, and I will always have her in my prayers. And she's who I'll think about whenever I hear about the 9-11 accident. It is really funny, though, that I have the same first and last name as her. Maybe we were related somehow! All my hopes go out to her and her family.

Kathleen and I were classmates and friends in High School (Midwood, Brooklyn NY). We enjoyed the play on our names and referred to ourselves as team "Moran and Doran". Kathy was such a wonderful, kind-hearted, funny person and I wish I had stayed in contact after we graduated. She is etched in my memories, and I am grateful to have been her friend. I wish her family peace and solace. God bless Kathleen Moran.

We will keep the friends and family of Kathleen Moran in our thoughts and prayers. It is our intent that everyone affected by the death of Kathleen Moran find peace. Perhaps reading books by notable author Paul Hanly Furfey, reading the bible or other notable literature will offer some comfort to Kathleen Moran's loved ones.

Wow. It put it into perspective to see my own name up there. I am so sorry for the familys loss. I hope she is watching over the rest of us.

Sincerely, Kathleen Moran (PA)

Like a few others here, I am struck that my namesake, Kathleen Moran, died in the tragic destruction of the Twin Towers at an age I have long passed. Though I am English, I had visited New York City for the first time just months before that event, and now I shall remember the lady who shares my name - and her family - when I think of and pray for my own dead friends and family.

I worked with Kathy for several years in the insurance industry in New York. She had the most infectious laugh I have ever heard! She truly loved a good time and brought joy to everyone around her. I was so sad to hear that she perished on 9/11. I will always cherish my memories of her.

It's horrible that things like this happen, and it's weird because my name, too, is Kathleen Moran. But I hope she is at peace now.

I wonder if Kathleen ever came into Morans at Washington and Rector. Chances are, she did. May she rest in heaven always.

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
