I knew Keith way back in the '80s and '90s when we used to play basketball together at the High School in the upper 70's on the west side on Saturday mornings. He was a soft-spoken gentleman-athlete back then and remained that way throughout his life. We also worked out together at Better Bodies, and I knew back then that I was lucky to have him as a friend.

I would visit him at night at Tattoo where he worked, and when we'd get a chance, we'd talk sports and just the day's events. Keith's soft-spoken manner was contagious. His sense of humor was dry and respectful at the same time.

He became a wonderful husband and father and true hero!

We must never forget the sacrifices that Keith and all the other heroes made for us to this day. Coming up on 10 years happened in the blink of an eye. My thoughts are with his entire family.

Interestingly enough, I actually was able to meet and know Keith when he was less than 5 feet in stature. He was a happy and delightful child, freckle-faced and precocious as you might expect. He and his darling sister similar in age to my niece who was born the same year Keith was and her younger brother were, great playmates. On occasion, the two Glascoe siblings were obligated to attend social gatherings; they sought comfort and joy in playing with each other through the arduous event. I pretended to be one of the crew and joined in the fun! Yes indeed it was a happy time.... And now....

God's Word tells us that absent from the body, present with the Lord. I firmly believe that. There is nothing I could do or say that would rightfully honor that gentle giant named Keith Alexander, but his Creator has. In fact, I believe Keith’s countenance would evoke an even greater glee than when I saw him play with his sister, my niece, and her brother.

Your son was one of the finest human beings I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I was just watching "The Professional" and wondering what was going on in Keith's life when I read that unfortunately he is no longer with us. I am truly saddened and sorry for your loss. I worked with Keith a very long time ago at a club in New York called Tatau. He was a real class act, selfless, a hero.

I attended Springfield College with Keith. I just read of his passing after looking through an Alumni Journal. I remember his smile and larger-than-life personality. I remember seeing him in several movie roles, and I actually ran into him in NYC some years ago. May his spirit live on, and may he R.I.P.

For those times when he was a bouncer at Peggy Sue's Club at 13th and University, we used to joke and have lots of good times hanging out. Keith was a true and outstanding human. I guess he was alway cut out to be someone that helped people in all different ways. May god bless him, and we will never forget a great person like him.

Keith and I were childhood friends. Football was his passion. We somehow lost contact during our college years. He was a fun loving guy who had a huge heart. I've thought about him often through the years and today I found out that he died saving the lives of others during 9/11. I am sad that he is gone but not surprised that he died a hero. My heart goes out to his family.

I knew Keith when he was a student at Woodward. He and my daughter Diane were friends along with Gina, Judy, Melissa, and others who also were students there. Keith was a delight, friendly and charming and ever so polite. What a wonderful young man, who had grown to be a professional, a husband, and a loving father. My family had left New York and moved to South Carolina in the late 70's, and I had lost touch with many folks, but I remember Keith and his dad, Ben. I remember visiting the family in a highrise somewhere near the Brooklyn Bridge. My thoughts and wishes to his family so long after his passing. Know that I have fond memories of him and his family.

I knew Keith when we were kids. He lived down the hall from my cousins, Michael and Leila. I remember playing with him whenever we visited them. I also remember how cool it was when he won that bike on Wonderama! I think it was the Snake can game. We also went to Midwood High School together. As we got older he was a bouncer at the clubs that I went to and worked out at Better Bodies were I was the General Manager. Our paths crossed our whole lives. He was one of the nicest people I have ever met in my entire life. He always had a smile, a kind word and always had time for a good conversation. My heart broke on September 11, 2001. I think of him often and every September 11th I take time out to look at his picture and talk to him and thank him for his years of friendship.

Nolan,

I am so very sorry for the loss of your father. I don't know how old you are now, but I hope that the years that have passed will have eased the pain a little for not having had him around when you were a child.

Even though he was my father, I didn't know him very well because he died when I was young. I also heard a lot of good things that he did, including loving his family very much, and I still miss him.

So sad about Keith. I only found out about who he really was after I saw him in the movie, "The Professional". I am sorry we lost someone with so many wonderful facets.

I was just told today, 9/26/07, by my sister who saw his name on a memorial at a fire house. My sorrow and prayers go out to his family. I am so sorry and sad to hear of Keith's tragedy on 9-11. I met Keith in 1979 through my sister Monique. We went to a few of his football games. He was such a kind and mild-mannered person. God bless you, Keith. You were one of God's best angels.

It took me this long to post this but I know there is never a right or wrong time. Keith was a friend for a short while but I truly remembered him as a guy with class and always a big smile. Having survived 9-11, I remember walking down Church Street one week later and seeing a memorial for Keith at a club we both worked at. I remember standing there in shock that this wonderful guy was lost to us... but not in our minds and hearts. Here's to Keith and all his comrades.

wow,
first off let me and my family offer our condolences. I'm sitting here in Maryland recalling a conversation of about a month ago that I was having with a singer named Jerry Lawson, formerly of the Persuasions, whom I met at the restoration center back in the 70's back in my hometown of Brooklyn, NY. We talked about the old days and the old folks, you know the Rodney Ruffin, Revie Sorey, syl's sporting goods. And I asked what happened to that nice Mr. Glascoe who ran it all and had the golden knights. I was devastated to have found this info by mistake. Jerry never mentioned this to me but he did say he had talked recently to Mr. Glascoe but that being said my point here is to say that young Mr. Glascoe obviously must have been a chip off the old block whom did doing what he was called to do HELP OTHERS. See, my belief is that angels are dispatched among us and given assignments which could cause them to leave this earthly home. This must be the case here. To the family please keep your hands in GOD'S hand and all will be well. Pray for me and mine and we will continue to pray for you and yours.

I just discovered that Mister Glascoe was one of the victims of the 9-11-2001 attack. I didn't know him other than the part of "Benny" in Léon (The Professional) but after reading the incredible story posted by Gloria Glascoe I felt an admiration towards Mister Glascoe. I truly have deep respect for how Mister Glascoe has lived his life and his care for other people. As I can read Mister Glascoe has done many different things and has lived an interesting life which even led to reach out to a person on the other side of the ocean. You can be very proud of your son, husband, father or friend.
My Condolences.
Wouter

I am a big fan of Leon the professional and only knew Keith from his role as Benny. The date is January 23, 2004 and I only heard of the tragic news today. It's great to find out what a truly heroic man Keith was. It goes far beyond his role as Benny, and it goes far beyond any role ever played in hollywood. My condolences to the fiends and family, and a heartfelt salute to all the heroes who put others especally children before themselves.

Keith was truly a caring, gentle, large [with a heart to match], sweet, lovable son. I know because he was my first born. He played practically all the sports and excelled in all. But football was his first love. In both high school and college, his team became division champions. His dream as a professional player was cut short due to a neck and shoulder injury. So, he moved on to his next dream, acting. He was very realistic about the possibilities of being a star and settled for wanting to be rich. While pursuing the acting he went to work for a city agency called Children's Welfare Agency/Child Protection. He was suitable for this because his next love was, children. He would not tolerate abuse to a child. For about five years Keith played on his Dad's football team the Golden Knights of B'klyn, went out on auditions and worked his 9-5. He worked on several commericals for, Sports Illustrated, Fargo Bank, Lay's potato chips to name a few. He also had bit parts on one of the soap operas, Saturday Night Live, 80 Centre St. His big shot came when he was given a role in 'THE PROFESSIONAL' that starred GARY Oldman, Jean Reno, Danny Aiello and Natalie Portman. I'll never forget the night he took me to the premiere and how proud I was, seeing him on the 'big' screen. And having the opportunity to meet all of the other actors at the after party. Keith just took it in stride. He never became full of himself. His next outing was a movie made for TV called, 'ASSAULT ON DEVIL'S ISLAND' with Hulk Hogan, Carl Weathers and Sharon Tate. While his plate was full, Keith had still another dream. That was, to become a firefighter. When he passed the exam I remember thinking, well it's better than being a cop and carrying a gun. In the back of my mind though, I knew that this was a dangerous profession but the odds were a little better. And when he was assigned to Hell's Kitchen, all I could think about was, hi-rise fires. So, I prayed regularly for him. One other dream that he had, and it too became real for him was, that he wanted five children. He was on his way. They had two and the third son was born seven months after 9/11. There is still much more that made up Keith, like, his sense of humor, his wit and compassion but I really enjoy hearing it from his friends. How they perceived him and how he touched their lives. I hope that you will keep his memory alive because he is so deserving of it. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

This web site is affiliated with 24K Gold Music Shows - an oldies music showband performing in Central Florida. The members of the showband feel strongly that there were many heroes manifested during the onslaught of terror associated with 9-11, and present this site as a memorial to those whose lives were lost, and the loved ones they left behind.

24K Gold Music Shows perform primarily 50-60s Oldies, Elvis songs, DooWop, and older country music, as well as patriotic songs. All of the musicians, singers, dancers, and staff of the 24K Gold Music Shows extend their deepest sympathies to every one who lost loved ones on that terrible day.

24K Gold Music Shows performs an original song called "The Day America Cried", which is a 9-11 tribute song. In the live shows, they honor with the song not only the heroes of 9-11 but also those who are still alive: the police personnel, firefighters, emergency personnel, soldiers, and others who have served our country and kept us all safe.

Listen also to this beautiful, touching song "Love Can Build a Bridge" by 24K Gold Music Shows. Even though strictly speaking it's not a 9-11 memorial song, I still feel it is a very fitting song for the occasion!
