Keith, we never met in life here on earth, but someday we will, and it will be in a much better place. After the tragic, needless act of cowardism on 9/11, my online embroidery group sent out a newsletter with a link to go and download a free machine embroidery file depicting the twin towers. We were asked to embroider the file, and to choose a name from the list of those who lost their lives, and embroider it on the ornament as well. Once completed, it was to be placed on the Christmas Tree and a prayer said for, not only your chosen name, but for all affected. I chose your name because my husband was a paramedic and I know the dedication those in EMS give so freely of themselves in work or volunteering. Every year since, when I place your special ornament on our tree, I continue to say a prayer for you and your family. I will continue to do this until the day we meet in Heaven! RIP my friend and I will continue to pray for all of you! *Hugs* Alicia

Keith,
We never met, but you are a fellow EMT and a Volunteer, and I want to say Thank You for your bravery and courage. You did what you were expected of and I can speak on behalf of all the EMT / MEDICS and Volunteer FFs, that you are missed. Thank you for your service Brother.

Keith,
A myriad of thoughts and emotions fill me today, but the clearest are of you...the kind, smiling, big blond kid in my fifth grade class. Your selfless acts, almost 10 years ago, remind me to cherish all my students. Your life and actions remind me to strive to teach every child to be the best person they can be so that they, in turn, can help to make the world a better place.... just as you did. You lived the beautiful example your parents taught you; I'm honored to have known all of you.

Keith,

I didn't know you but am now friends with your mom and dad. I appreciate your heroism that horrible day ten years ago. As your training told you to do, you ran in while others were trying to run out. Rest assured that I will never forget your sacrifice and that of the other 1st responders. Please tell Brian Sweeney, Patrick Waters, Jonathan Ielpi, Daniel Brethel, and Jeffrey Dingle they are in my prayers as you are too. We will never forget the 3,000 souls and those who have died from illnesses related to the rescue and recovery attempts.

I never met Keith, but if I am not mistaken, Mrs. Fairben was my fourth-grade teacher at P.S. 127 Q at the time, and my memory of 9/11 in that classroom is so clear. Even though I did not understand the severity of the situation at the time, Mrs. Fairben kept strong, and that is something I will never forget. Rest in peace, Keith, and thank you for being our hero! God bless!

Buddy,

I've had a hard time putting my feelings into words, but here goes. If I could have had a little brother, you're the one I'd have picked. I watched you grow up, and you made us all proud. Your smile and love are magnetic. You always follow your heart, and you are the best friend anyone could ever have. You may not be here, but you're still with us, I feel you. Thank you for all the love you gave us. Watch over all of us, too, okay? Love you, brother!

As we remember another September 11th, we remember you. We remember your sense of humor, your compassion and your courage. You will live on - in the hearts of your family and friends and the stories that are told about you and that horrific day. Please look after your parents. They love you and miss you so.

Keith,

It's now been eight years since we lost you, but I will never forget the great times we had as brand new EMT's at the Island Park Transcare. It never seemed like work when we were partners. God bless you and your family.

Dear Keith,

I was just thinking of you, so I thought I would write. Of course, I wish you were here, but I'm sure that the view is much better from where you're sitting. That said, I will keep you in my prayers tonight, and I ask that you return the favor. God bless you and your family.

Your friend,
Joe Marchese

Keith,

I had the distinct honor of meeting your parents last week as they visited Guantanamo Bay to reflect on you and see to it that those down here get justice for the horrific tragedy they conspired on September 11, 2001.

While I never knew you, I have taken the time to read about you and flip through pages of memories from those who did know you.

Your parents were gracious, humble, and wholeheartedly dedicated to preserving your enduring legacy.

My only regret now is that I did not have more time to spend with your parents. I've assured myself that if I see them again, I will take them to dinner and listen to their memories of you and the impact you've continued to have on their life since your life was selfishly taken on 9/11.

May our great God continue to bless others through your heroic actions as a medic to those in peril on 9/11.

You're forever a hero.

Dear Son,

I come back here often. I read all the notes that have been left here, the kind words, from your friends and those who did not know you well. It is another new year, but it is just as if it is Sept 11, 2001. IT DOES NOT GET EASIER, AND NO, WE WILL NEVER GET OVER IT, as many people have said to us. We have been told to get on with our lives: Mom and I just go through the motions, the emptiness is always there.

Love you always,
Dad

Keith, it was a honor and a privilege to have worked with you. Thanks for the smiles that I have today remembering you. I will not let your memory die.

Hi Keith,

Today marks the 7th anniversary and with heavy hearts I remember your strength and the way you died helping others. I miss you very much and I keep you and your family in my prayers... Love you!

Hi Keith,

I met you a couple times. But I wanted to tell you that I always think about you. I sometimes will either have a conversation with you or even just a 'hello.' I love your mom and your dad with all my heart, and even though I am down in North Carolina and they are in NY, I always think about them. Thanks for being the greatest hero that God put on this earth. I miss you so much.

As the 7th anniversary is upon us, I remember your laugh and the way you could make someone feel so special! You're missed very much and I think about you every day!

Dear Keith,

We have never met, but I have gotten to know some of your FPFD volunteers. You are spoken very highly of and are greatly missed. I am positive you are their hero (as well as mine).

Keith,

We never met, and that is something I regret soo much. You died doing what was in your heart--helping people. That is the most Godly thing a person can do. I believe you are in heaven with Jesus and looking out for your parents. You will always be loved and needed by them. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. We will never forget.

Good morning, Son. Just came by here to read some of the notes that were posted. You are remembered every day. I may have told you this, but the company has a locker in the front of the bay with your gear in it, it is enclosed with a glass front, and has your name on it. It has lighting so that at night it stands out. Well, just was sitting here and thinking about you. Miss you so much. Love you, my hero. --Dad

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
