I met Keith a little while ago in a television documentary broadcast on Italian television.
I was deeply impressed by the story of his father, moment by moment, until the day when his son was found.
You are a people who have given us all an example of what the union, love and altruism that exists in your hearts-as well as Keith has shown in those tragic moments.
God protect us!

You were one of the first people to teach me how to play basketball. You were so patient with us being so young. I remember you every time I decorate my Christmas tree with the teddy bear tree ornament you gave the entire team that year. I saw the news segment on NY1 today and went straight to Angels Circle to pay my respects. RIP

Keith is the son of my cousin Rosemary and her husband Arnold. I grieve every day for them and for him. He died a hero....but to them he was just their son a boy full of life!

It's the ninth anniversary of your death, and I miss you so much. You made the ultimate sacrifice and gave your life to save others. You will always be remembered for your heroism. I will always remember the times we hung out and played cards or when we shot pool. You always made me laugh, and I will never forget you. You are my hero and my friend. I love you.

If tears could build a staircase,
And heartache build a lane,
I would walk right into heaven,
And bring you home again.
I never knew you, but yours is a name I will never forget. R.I.P., hero.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the Roma family. I am a firefighter in Florida, just south of Tampa. Our members, probie through chief, will never forget the sacrifice that our brother made on that morning, nor of the brothers who still struggle with afflictions today. We erected a 9/11 memorial that stands in front of our Station #1 to honor them. 343 has been driven into our heads, and as I was putting the list together, I kept coming up with one extra name. It was Keith. I spoke with several FDNY members to clarify what was going on. That is when I found out that Keith was Fire Patrol. When I told them that my intention was to list him on the memorial as #344, I received overwhelming support from them. Keith Roma's name is proudly displayed on the memorial, and if you are ever on Anna Maria Island in SW Florida, please stop by and see it. God bless you and all of the families. My husband and I visited New York in April 2006. My husband is a photographer and was taking lots of photos as we walked around the neighborhood of Patrol House No. 2. We came upon the firehouse, and my husband stopped to take some photos of the outside of the house. He made a grid print comprising 16 small snapshots, which hangs in my office. One of the snapshots has the plaque memorializing Mr. Keith Roma. Even though I never met Mr. Roma or his family, I say a prayer for them when I look at it. Our family will never forget 9/11 and the heroes and innocent victims who lost their lives that day.
Blessings to you all,
The Glovers

I met Keith's mom (we didn't exchange names, but I am the redhead you spoke with). My Aunt Pat was with us in the "bathroom waiting room" today at a doctor's appointment. My prayers go out to your family, and I will think of you when I think of the other 343 of the 344 that gave their lives for US that day. He is my hero!

I knew you when I was 9.... my sister Bonnie took me to see her friend miltain and she met u.... while u brought us all around the city, let us in the fire trucks and even went to a bar to play pool with me. My sister loved you.... she misses u to this day as much as I do, and we can't stop saying it.... we love you.... u were kind and generous and treated my sister right, and she was happy.... u weren't supposed to, but you went on the train ride back to Long Island with us and made my sister and I feel safe and happy.... I have your shirt u gave me with your name and patrol on it still, and it's on my wall, framed.... we will always miss you

The ABC Ch.7 NY 11:00pm newscast on 9/25/06 featured a bit about the NY Fire Patrol. I heard the beginning of the clip and perked up just in time to hear and see Keith Roma mentioned by name and picture. I didn't know Keith personally, but if he was anything like his brother Dr.Roma, with whom I am acquainted, he must have been a quite a guy. Always honored, never forgotten.

Happy Birthday in Heaven! We love you and miss you. The sunshine in Spring will always remind us of you and the times we spent playing outside. Baseball season is about to begin. You should be getting warmed up for the games.
Let's go Yankees!
Maureen, Elizabeth, Keith and your newest nephew Joseph.

One of the nicest, funniest guys we knew!! We shared Doorman duties at a bar, and were regular pals.
He always made us smile. He still does. All we have to do is remember.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
