Thinking of you on this tenth anniversary, what a great friend you were to my dad and role model to my little brother in Little League when you guys were coaching together, what fun we had with your mom on the sidelines. What an honor it is to have known such a humble hero...you are always in my thoughts, Kenny.

I did not know Kenneth but I wear a bracelet bearing his name in memory of our fallen hero that states : FF Kenneth Kumpel 9/11/01 WTC FDNY. I am so proud and have the honor to show respect to him and the FDNY. These men were truly heros and Ladder 25 and others are much appreciated for their endless efforts for rescue and safety. God Bless each, his wife and 2 sons.

I am truly humbled by this man and his family. Ken's dignity, integrity, honor, and legacy are exemplified by his family's reverence to community affairs and engagement. We all miss him.

I didn't personally know Mr Kumpel, but I was touring NYC with my marching band, when we stopped at the gift shop after we toured the site, I bought a commemorative bracelet, and on it, it reads, "FF Kenneth Kumpel 9/11/01 WTC FDNY." I just pray for your family and bless you all. God bless you and your family.

I knew Ken when he dated my sister, prior to meeting his wonderful wife that he leaves behind. Ken was a gentleman and I highly regarded his mature way at a young age. His parents did a fine job raising Him. It's a wonderful thought that Ken touched many people in his life, and it's unfair to loose a wonderful gift to mankind.

I would have loved to have him as a brother in-law. However, everything seems to have a destiny, and Ken found his true love. I admired him in many ways, and I wish the family the very best during these difficult times. Life continues, but people don't forget you!

I was at the Court house in Rochester New York when I passed by a table that had tons of red white and blue stars on a table, on the wall behind the table it said "Adopt a Hero" (or something along that line) Each star had a name of an individual that lost their life on 9/11 at all three crash sites. I reached on the table and grabbed a white star that says, "Kenneth Kumpel, World Tade Center, FDNY" I took the star and I have it at home. I would like to thank Ken for the life that he gave to others. I would also ask that God bless all of his family and freinds that miss him so dearly. I am very sorry for your loss.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
